The Hidden II

The Hidden II

The alien criminal from the first movie is dead, but he left a few eggs which are hatching now. The good alien, who still inhabits Tom Beck's body, has been waiting just in case this happened. Unfortunately, his presence in the body has taken a terrible toll on it, draining it of life energy. Additionally relations with Beck's daughter Juliet (now a cop) have deteriorated. But when the killing starts again, they will need to work together to stop the new generation of aliens.

John K (ca) wrote: A feel-good movie that tells the story of Humanity Pulling Together to overcome a Threat to our Very Existence. Sort of in the mold of War Games but not as tight. There are lots of Heroes with a a capital H and lots of opportunities for heroic sacrifices especially near the end. Decent special effects. Personally I was irritated by the musical score, which was sombre and ponderous and always intruding. Script, pretty corny at times. It pays to see the movie at home on your DVD player so you can fast forward through all the schmalz. But all in all, I rate it a solid B

Justin B (it) wrote: I like it more in theory than in practice. The first tale is a solid entry into the slasher subgenre and the framework story starring the man himself is fun; but the other two stories are a tad disappointing.

Tony M (mx) wrote: I've always liked this film. Her husband's face when she gave his steak dinner to the dog, priceless! 4 stars for Shirley Valentine.

Dave R (br) wrote: based on a true story "30 seconds over tokyo" recounts how america struck back at japan following pearl harbor. the dramatic build up in the first hour is a bit tedious and a little too light-hearted for me. when the action starts i enjoyed it more. later there's a little too much saccharine camaraderie between the chinese and americans (which seems very out of place in this day and age! you'd think we were destined to be the greatest of allies!).nevertheless it's a fairly enjoyable watch if you're in the mood for an old fashioned war movie.

Karl G (it) wrote: Seen it all coming before it happened, still enjoyed it though! Dialogue from other side of phone was a bit lacking! Not bad!

Tatsuhito K (kr) wrote: It has a great cast (Rupert Grint playing a drug addict, porn star wannabe is hilarious), but the material itself squanders their talents. Charlie Countryman is shallow and trippy.

Matthew D (br) wrote: Enjoyable without being totally engrossing, this Justice League film is mostly action, but the pacing is good, the fights inventive and dynamic and there's pauses for snappy dialogue and decent character beats, at least for the majority of its runtime. The problems come towards the end; not only does the constant action mean most viewers will start to flag, the violence gets more and more gratuitous and the ill-defined alien technology is used as a deus ex machina twice over.It may seem odd complaining about the nature of the violence in a film subtitled War, but it does feature characters that have been defined throughout most of their history by never taking a life and being symbols for optimism. In the last Justice League animated movie, The Flashpoint Paradox, the darkness was a little too much, bordering on silly, but there was a reason for it; we were in an alternate timeline where everything had gone wrong and was meant to contrast with the world the protagonist knew. Here, the 'correct' timeline, following on from the latter film's post-credits scene, is no different and aggressive heroes and death and destruction are business as usual. It's not a huge problem for the film viewed in isolation, but it makes this world less fun, especially for those used to something different, and it's disappointing when in the past DC animation has always kept the balance well between mature story-telling and representing the true core of the characters.

Ashley H (ag) wrote: My Darling Clementine is an excellent film. It is about the retelling of the tale of the Shoot-out at the OK Corral. Henry Fonda and Linda Darnell give excellent performances. The screenplay is well written. John Ford did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama. My Darling Clementine is a must see.
