Arvind G (ca) wrote: If you'd like to see beautiful people wearing pretty clothes having fun in a wonderful city, watch it! Total timepass movie without any real plot, storyline or characters apart from the hero and heroine. Great showcase for Paris, since the whole movie has been shot there.

Kevin M W (kr) wrote: While I thought this was okay, and only that, at the same time I'm not with all the kudos this garnered (which lead to high expectations on my part, which lead to some letdown when I finally got around to seeing it). It's a homage to the silent films of yore, maybe, but at the same time there's Singin' In The Rain and A Star Is Born to borrow from extensively. Throw in Asta, the pooch from The Thin Man series of the 1930's, and there you've pretty much got what I took as a not too inventive steal of the old stuff, worthy of a kitschy film school tribute maybe, but little more.

This was the Ultimate Anne Rice on crack. rofl. I loved this movie, and all it's parts. I have been a fan of vampires for long time. This movie was the best in scary to me,,, The only other vampire myth was born from the books of Brian Lumley. Read of him? 16 text of the Vampire Mythos, starting with the, Necroscope series begins the mega series of a myth bigger and better than anne rice. The shit that can haunt you while you are asleep. Can I say Scary Shit? And this series ended here. PLEASE GIVE US MORE OF SUBSPECIES?

Rebecca R (ru) wrote: I can't say i am real fond of old movies like this, but I can tell that huge amounts of work went into this one and that it was probably very avant-garde for its time. it is nice though to at last understand where the whole "shangri-la" idea comes from...

Colm M (br) wrote: If you want to understand why the current pope chose Francis as his name watch this movie. We had bad cop with the last pope now good cop (Pope Francis) is gonna try and win the flock over with meekness. I don't buy it.....and I don't buy this movie. Wonderfully shot but in no way an attempt at an accurate portrayal of Francis life simply because no one in their right mind swoons about in the glory of god 24/7. I found the character extremely irritating. If that's rapture I'll pass.

Roger B (mx) wrote: Kirk Douglas says this was his favorite movie to make. That from a man who one an Academy Award for Spartacus! Based on a great little book called, "Brave Cowboy" this movie is filled with some of the best stars to light up the screen: Gena Rowlands, Walter Matthau (in a early droll comic style that he is now famous for), George Kennedy as the antagonistic prison guard, Carroll O'Connor in a small but funny role, William Schallert (you'll know him when you see him--Patty Duke's TV dad and voice of Milton the Toaster) as a comic deputy who doesn't realize he's funny, and one of the best barroom brawls on film (Douglas fights a one-armed vet). Lots of emotions in this movie, right to the last scene.
