katie b (ag) wrote: An inspirational story with solid performances from its ensemble cast. Annette Bening is great as Dorothea, a struggling single mother trying to raise her son, Jamie, as he experiences his teen years and becomes an adult. Mike Mills' film shows us that you don't necessarily need a man to raise another man and proves that women are capable of anything.

Leonard D (it) wrote: Wonderful film! Very sad, and it sickens me that some people who knows they were guilty of the horrific crimes they committed, get to go Scott free!

James B (mx) wrote: Cult Classic, benefits from sharp direction, genuine scares and a quick pace. Though Weller isn't the most charismatic actor, and the "wild animal on the loose" is nothing new. Still very good of it's type, film debut of actress Shannon Tweed.

Jim A (it) wrote: This movie was the last of the original Godzilla series before the Heresi reboot and is in general a satisfying monster flick. Like most of its genre and time period its a silly movie at times that looks a bit cheap but for those who like that kind of thing it is fun bit of campy Kaiju battle mayhem

Barney o (it) wrote: WHAT I LIKED: The band is back together with Nick Frost, Simon Pegg (who's "chemistry" is magnetic) and genious Edgar Wright re-uniting after the brilliant 'Shaun of the Dead.' On the most part, they deliver again too, as this definitely works as a satire of the buddy-cop movie, but it also succeeds in standing on its own in that regard. That's because 'Hot fuzz' parodies by off-the-wall exaggeration, and thus brings in high levels of excitement, tension and improved action that Edgar Wright directs impecably.WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: This more over-the-top approach to satire is entertaining, but it looses the subtle intellegence of its predeccessor, and feels more self-contained and over-reliant on the madness as a result.VERDICT: It may not be as good as 'Shaun of the Dead,' but 'Hot Fuzz' is without a doubt an entertaining comedy with plenty of great action and off-the-wall moments.

Denise P (br) wrote: It benefits slightly from the frenetic chemistry between Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans, Jr. and offers an imaginative idea; unfortunately, Let's Be Cops borrows too heavily from The Heat and Wedding Crashers, and fails to provide enough originality to be forgiven for its slapdash gags, misguided farce of police brutality and its devotion to following a worn out storytelling arc.
