The Human Centipede (First Sequence)
During a stopover in Germany in the middle of a carefree road trip through Europe, two American girls find themselves alone at night when their car breaks down in the woods. Searching for help at a nearby villa, they are wooed into the clutches of a deranged retired surgeon who explains his mad scientific vision to his captives' utter horror. They are to be the subjects of his sick lifetime fantasy: to be the first to connect people, one to the next, and in doing so bring to life "the human centipede."

(kr) wrote: Jim Van Bebber seems like the sort of guy that would kick you in the mouth if you looked at him the wrong way. Fortunately he took any rage he had and puked it all over the screen by writing, producing directing, starring in, creating the special f/x for, doing the sunts for, editing, scoring, and genearally bullying people into appearing in this nasty little micro-budget wonder. Filmed in urban squalor crawling with raw, viscious savagery. It is a testament to somebody that doesn't need to "create" this world - when it is his reality. Like one long commercial for how much of a bad-ass he is!
(us) wrote: Historically inaccurate - of this there is no doubt - but also quite an unexciting affair with just about everyone being overly earnest in their character portrayals. Shaw is as good as ever, but the story needed some better action set-pieces to help move on the narrative.

(us) wrote: Equal parts uplifting and depressing, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is a darkly humorous look into the flawed psychiatric system of the 1960s - which makes the film even more impressive that it still holds relevance and importance today.
