Andrew P (nl) wrote: The first half, well it sucks. Very boring. And it seemed like the acting stunk also. The second half got good, and the acting was a lot better. Sarah Jessica Parker captured you at the end, but the movie was already done to me. It also felt like it never ended, just one more thing had to happen all the time.

Brad S (it) wrote: Not exactly what I expected after all the Roger Ebert hype from the 90s. I missed this documentary in its time and I think that's when it played best. Now, 20 years later, it just doesn't hold up as well. The filmmaking feels pretty amateur and the story just isn't that compelling. It's not bad by any means, but too many better documentaries have come out to tell better stories over the past 20 years.
Senor C (ca) wrote: Now it's your turn w/ the pussy..Savage Streets is such a lovely piece of trash filled w/ great garbage dialogue spouted by all but joyously by the all too brief John Vernon. A little slow in the middle because it plays its cards a little quick for a final revenge flix (Linnea Quigley is raped in the first 25 minutes) but it makes up for it in cat scraps.

Marjorie P (kr) wrote: The first time I ever saw Ziegfeld Girl, I came in late, and couldn't figure out who played the gorgeous Sheila Regan. Imagine my surprise when I learned it was 20-year-old Lana Turner. Later on, they lacquered her up, bleached her hair and pumped her full of Lillian Burns-style mannerisms (Burns was the acting coach at MGM). But in ZG, she's sweet, natural, unaffected and absolutely heartbreaking. She had it all, they should never have sent her to school. Love this movie!!
Isaac K (us) wrote: Oh my god this is a good movie. I'll admit that I never read the play that this is based on, but It was a great movie. A black man is arrested, and sent to jail. He escapes by hiding in a truckload of rocks. He gets a job shoveling coal on a steamliner, and leaves the boat to swim ashore. on shore he uses his cunning, and intimidating stature to become the so-called "Emperor" The best scenes come at the end when he's lost in the jungle. He delivers a great monologue, and is eventually shot and killed by his rebellious citizens. Robeson delivers a great performance as the power mad Jones. See this film.

Jon E (ca) wrote: Paranormal Activity is an alternative take on the standard horror film. With a more grounded premise, it differs from conventional horror in that it is both more plausible and more typical of human response to the vast majority of horror films. The sequels leave much to be admired, but this feature helped to usher in change in the horror genre. It has, unfortunately, led to some terrible derivatives but does capture interest and leave the viewer enveloped. Though the concept will irritate, or simply just not work for some, it is certainly worth viewing if not to experience something a little different in the genre. The film builds at a reasonable pace and leaves the viewer somewhat satisfied during its climax. A must watch for horror and paranormal fanatics.

Dave S (it) wrote: Movie had promise to really be something special except they turned the movie into a propoganda piece for finding Jesus. Some of the ideas presented are downright ridiculous. It is asserted that God involves himself in the outcomes of football games. The movie just goes on and on about Jesus. Other movies incorporate religion into plot without being overbearing and obnoxious. There is also the fact that a great deal of what goes on has been found unconstitutional. Players cannot be made to listen to religious leaders and coaches may not initiate prayers prior to games in public schools.
