Shawn W (gb) wrote: Pare is part of a unit of the CIA that specializes in ESP. He is sent to protect a female doctor working in a refugee camp in Turkey after the woman's mother has bad dreams about things happening to her. Definetely a flimsy reason to send a CIA operative overseas but the mom's dreams were spot on as the camp is ambushed and she is taken hostage. Close shows Pare successfully putting his ESP powers to work against enemy fighters while temporarily blinded.

The story and dialogues contribute to create a solid atmosphere without losing sight of the evolution of its characters. Everything clicks, even if its aspirations as a movie are not revolutionary.
Bill T (it) wrote: An interesting movie for it's time. Breakin' is certainly dated, what with it's fashions and the relentless "rap" music, but it does have some heart, and it's quite fun too. Lucinda Dickey plays a dancer trying to make it, when she discovers that weird dance all the black kids are doing. Her dance instructor and her agent are skeptical, but she follows her heart and enters the big big dance competion. It's a bit much after awhile, but again, it's fun. Plenty of "What are YOU doing here" moments from Christopher McDonald, Ice T and, yes, Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Lisa S (fr) wrote: To all those that didn't quite grasp the essence of this movie....the writer has twisted the holy grail of passionate affairs justified by desire and 'discreetness' (as per story) to the lives of those effected by an act of pure self. The audience is twisted around to see what was at 'the back of the room'...a view rarely exposed with honesty to audiences who prefer to stay in the moments of lust, heartbreaker and justifications. All measures of the film as in script, acting, pace and characterisation are excellent. See this film to know more about consequences of self pursuit.
