Jasrick J (kr) wrote: An impressive tale, the story is about Krish (arjun) who falls in love with Ananya (alia) at IIM-Ahmedabad. Both are strong about their commitment but trouble comes in the form of their families. Krish is a north Indian from Punjabi community while Ananya is from a conventional Tamil Brahmin family. Families of both meet and there is a major clash on the cultural preferences. What happens from there forms the rest. The director has come up with a romantic storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was quite absorbing. The dialogues were well written. The script was great and the screenplay made it lot better. The background score was melodious and three songs were worth watching. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was crisp. Costumes were well designed to suit the royalty while the art department was majestic. Arjun Kapoor has put good efforts in the role and proved his mettle. Alia Bhatt was quite expressive and bold. Amrita Singh was excellent, Ronit Roy was amazing (watch out for him in the climax he steals the show). Revathi was fabulous, Shiv Subramaniam was masterly. Achint Kaur was a revelation. Others didn't get much scope. The film is based on the book '2 States' written by Chetan Bhagat and the adaptation into the film has been made very well. The first half goes on a lighter note with elements of romance, comedy and some fun filled entertainment. The interval bang was interesting and the second half has also got its share of entertainment but with proper tinge of sentiment, melodrama. Overall 2 States is a mature film about family relationships, and the film asks the question, that is falling in love, the next step to being married, is marriage that easy... Easily one of the best hindi films to release this year, 2 States is a must watch!!! Highly recommend

Monica B (us) wrote: An interesting story based around the reservation system for education opportunities for the lower castes in India. The Big B has once again donned his beard and glasses and stolen the show. It definitely comes a distant second to Rajneeti (which is made by the same director), but its still worth seeing, and definitely instigates a lot of discussion.

Ahmad J (jp) wrote: One of the best coming-of-age movies I've seen! One could easily tell it had a very low budget, so it relied completely on the story and the performance of the actors, and for me both were very solid!

Tara H (br) wrote: Entertaining, if truncated adaptation of William Thackeray's classic satirical novel. Becky Sharp, played here by Reese Witherspoon, is the likeable, if calculating heroine.

Michael W (kr) wrote: Part of the golden age of Italian post-apocalyptic films; a must-see for fans of post-apocalypse cinema. This one has all the required elements: souped up vehicles, roving gangs/mutants, filmed in a quarry, shoulder pads, synth music, food shortage and Fred Williamson. Some bizarre components but familiarity with the genre should dissipate those concerns.

David H (nl) wrote: A film about corruption in trade unions (typical 1970s) and the ability of high levels to make the workers in-fight to stop any uprising, Richard Pryor is quite funny at times in this

Candra C (us) wrote: If you are a fan of the show you cannot miss this movie. Laugh out loud funny!

Urban M (kr) wrote: Simply one of the best horror comedies ever made: Shaun of the Dead balances just enough gore and minimal dose of fear, a heartfelt coming-of-age story (with a captivating lead performance by Pegg) and perfectly kinetic, precise British humour thanks to exceptionally good writing, excruciating attention to detail while never losing mind of the big picture, and Edgar Wright's signature style of visual comedy that never takes a single break.

Tammy R (ru) wrote: Sean Penn, Frances McDormand and Paolo Sorrentino! Not to mention a wee bit of Harry Dean Stanton!! What could go wrong? Everything. What a dud! I really wanted to like this one, but the fuzzy hard to catch dialogue, the pointless cameos, the incomprehensible subplot that vanished, the too obvious exposition, the general indulgence of the thing not to mention the confounding need to turn it into a Holocaust movie all combined into two big fat thumbs down from the Duo. Do not waste your time.

Josh H (de) wrote: A pretty interesting action/sci-fi sorta movie. I thought it was a little over the top but unique enough to check out. Plus, it's Russell Crowe before he became a superstar. Having watched it several years later, it really doesn't hold up and has such an 80s movie feel about it -- and not in a good way.

Jane D (es) wrote: This is a strange little movie, that is enjoyably twisted. At some moments it got pretty slow, but the unapologetic violence that takes place here makes up for it. I personally didn't find this movie particularly enjoyable to watch, but I can see how others do.

Dave S (es) wrote: Adam Copeland's first movie, fun film, he could be the next breakout actor, real potential! I've always been an Edgehead!

Noname (ag) wrote: I thought this movie would be more like "The Descent" when i read the plot and more creepy then it turned out to be. Story was just okey and not quite the horror movie i wanted but its a watchable flick i guess.

Devon W (us) wrote: Interesting premise and execution. But this torture porn gets blah the more it drags on, to the sigh worthy ending.
