Grace M (gb) wrote: This movie was a bit of a disappointment. It was quite charming at first, but then it began to lose my attention. The ending was ridiculous. I felt like the whole boring, middle section of it was a waste of time.
Bruce B (mx) wrote: This is an excellent Roy Rogers film with a great cast. Roy cleans up one town and rides to tombstone where he is mistaken for Shotgun Cassidy a hired thug to be sheriff, Roy doesn't let anyone know he's Bret Starr a good guy, until he finds out the town's dirty dealings that he is gonna clean up. Elyse Knox plays the women Roy's heart is after and she is a beauty. Great story line for 1941, 4 Stars

Chris H (gb) wrote: Vertical Limit was definitely not good, but I have seen much worse and it was nonetheless mildly entertaining. The movie held my attention throughout, but after the 5th time someone fell off a cliff or blew themselves up I began to get weary. The plot was very shallow and obviously not well planned. It relied entirely on moments of sudden suspense and action, specifically explosions and the afore mentioned "cliff-hangers" (pun intended). Transitions and key points were awkward and often illogical and confusing. It was clear throughout the movie what was happening and why, but frequently only after a moment of contemplation. The special effects, while once again not the worst, were seriously deficient for the year 2000. All in all, if you have nothing better to do, Vertical Limit will be satisfactory, but if you're anticipating a blockbuster on movie night, you will be thoroughly disappointed.
Justin A (fr) wrote: It predates The Amityville Horror, but I still did not care for this movie. A lot of these haunted house movies where the characters are going insane and you don't actually see the ghosts really bores me. Might work great as a novel (and I'm sure Burnt Offerings is a great horror novel), but as a movie, I'm usually struggling to stay awake. The only exception to this would be The Haunting, but that was a different class of movie altogether. Burnt Offerings is just a tedious movie that doesn't do anything special or memorable. The performances are fine, and there is some decent imagery (like the mortician with the casket), but most of the movie just felt dull and lifeless. There's supposed to be an old woman upstairs the entire movie, and three of the characters never see or hear her. I actually forgot there was supposed to be someone up there because the movie practically ignores that part. It's fine if you like these kinds of haunted house movies, but it's not my thing. At least it was better than The Amityville Horror, but that's not really saying much anyway.
Bobby H (au) wrote: A fantastic comedy that somehow manages to be black humoured and warm hearted at the same time.Michael J.Fox and Kirk Douglas head a great ensemble cast.Fox is as watchable as ever in a mildly disreputable role, and Douglas' mischievous antics keep the surprises coming, right up until the final sly twist. An underrated gem.
