Andrew R (gb) wrote: Great performance by Sean Penn. This Must Be the Place is a story about a former rock star named Cheyenne who is now lost and has nothing to keep him going. His father whom he doesn't speak to dies with a last wish to kill a former Nazi that tormented him years ago. Cheyenne decides to pick up where his father left off and kill the Nazi for him. On the search Cheyenne finds himself and realizes what he has at home is what keeps him going. Good acting and good underlying theme but the fil struggles to find this theme and seems to be lost for most of its running time.

A self-contained story, full of semi-realistic action, violence, fun, firearms, women, humour and even a bit of Bond history. Liked it. This is probably my favourite Bond film running neck to neck with Live and Let Die (1973). Is it coincidence that this is the 23rd of the series (you have to know me)? Excited to be so close to catching up on this series. It's taken over 50 years.

Mikael K (fr) wrote: Lovely Maggie Cheung plays herself and does it magnificently well. ?Irma Vep? is an art movie about making a French art movie. The story is formed as Cheung interacts with the rest of the cast and crew on and off set and cultural differences become apparent. The movie is a comedy, but has a lot of substance to it, as well as some deeply melancholicundertones. This is a very small story, but fascinating and well realized.

Zach S (jp) wrote: The above score is for the movie alone. For the MST3K episode it's a 4.5. I read that this was filmed on and off for about 2 or 3 years and it definitely shows. Yuri's hair keeps changing in every frame, Joe Estevez disappears after a half hour and there are no less than 3 different versions of the werewolf; from a puppet to makeup. None of the actors took "English as a Second Language" so they have brilliant lines like "You is in this for the money!?". Really terrible movie that should only be seen with your robot friends.

explodingboy1989 (ca) wrote: This is the best of the series, right next to part 2: The Road Back. Cheesy fun for all, actually. The make-up job for Tong-Po in this one is just so bad, you HAVE to assume it's tongue-in-cheek. Sasha Mitchell pwns all as the brooding David Sloan, who goes down to Mexico to participate in Tong Po's tournament to the death. One of Albert Pyun's masterpieces (Cyborg being his best). You are not a true fan of bad DTV movies unless this is in your collection.

Kyle C (mx) wrote: Alright already, enough with the Nicolas Cage bashing, I'm tired of it, he's a good actor that gets crapped on a lot of times before his movies even come out. This is a grand and glory action movie that never stops. The story is predictable but what movie isn't anymore and although Cage's hair is ridiculous, this is worth watching just for some of the lines he spouts.
