Ryan J (mx) wrote: An interesting subject, some fascinating themes, and a set of strong performances embolden this deadly serious satire on the troops coming home. Some sections and flashbacks work better than others, and Vin Diesel ain't great, but this isn't bad. (6.5/10)

Mayank A (jp) wrote: The story is dull, the pacing extra slow, making it a very bleak movie. Watched it based on the great reviews and ratings and am disappointed.

Matt C (au) wrote: This is certainly no classic (there is basically nothing on offer here for the accompanying adult) but it's watchable enough. My 2 year old really enjoyed it but basically solely on the premise that there were 'lots of planes going!'...that is basically it in a nutshell,

Matt B (br) wrote: The trailers for Young Adult suggest it's comedic. They're wrong. Young Adult is definitely more dark than funny and unfortunately I don't think a lot of people are going to want to see it for the holidays. It's their loss. I think it's a fascinating character study. Charlize Theron, excellent as ever, plays a depressed alcoholic who tries to steal back her married ex-boyfriend. She's amoral to a fault, but we can't look away from her mistakes. We're so drawn to her. This may be the most likable bitchiest character to ever hit the screen.

John R (jp) wrote: 121206: Many great stars in dark and dirty roles. Basically this is a revenge, chase film. From the moment it starts, to the moment it ends, Liam Neeson relentlessly pursues Pierce Brosnan through beautiful but hostile landscapes. Ed Lauter and Michael Wincott make nasty posse members who you just know won't make it through the film. Tom Noonan (Hell on Wheels) and Wes Studi (short but sweet) also make appearances. Didn't appreciate the mystical element introduced near the end, Anjelica Huston, but who am I to complain when good modern westerns are so few and far between. Enjoyed this film.

Adam S (br) wrote: Studio bound 50's social problem flick with John Cassavetes as a youth gang leader tormented by inner demons, and kindly James Whitmore as the social worker trying to turn him around. Good acting, with powerful direction from Don Siegel, but the obvious studio setting is unrealistic and the photography isn't much better than the TV standard of the day.

Jessica W (us) wrote: This movie was great more for characterization and choice in characters rather than plot. It is slow but the detailed scenes (like art to an artist) and crafted raw passion between two men make it up. I see GBLT movies, and the directors usually find (on purpose or not) a male stereotypical looking "feminine" woman to balance the other person who is stereotypically male. I guess to save face that there should be male and female roles even in homosexual relationships. In Brokeback Mountain, I did not see this at all. These men did not have anything that I would say is bias as with other homosexual oriented media. The only thing that was a little off was the "moon in the sky" and references to sin. Though that is so little compared to the characters and their acting. This is a movie more for the art than anything else. A film lover or one that has a passion for film making through the artist eyes would find appreciation in this movie. Others not so much since it doesn't build up to the plot to lighten the effect of the first erotic scene. That, and I think the erotic scene may put a raw impression on the future intimacy scenes. Again, characterization, art, and attention to detail was perfect. I recommend it for anyone who can see passed media's perspective on homosexual relationships.

Naomi C (it) wrote: Once again Christian Bale is the man BUT I have 2 say all I was interested in throughout the whole film was Mr Bad Man himself Tom Hardy

David S (jp) wrote: This was a snooooooooze. This film bored the hell out of me. Every character is dealing with a sense of loss of some sort and it sort of ties them all together? Sort of? The ending is really confusing and I have no desire to understand it lol. Didn't enjoy this one, at all
