(it) wrote: This movie was completely ridiculous but I have to admit I liked it. There were some really funny moments, and Ralph Macchio was in it!
(ca) wrote: Cute, if low budget. Acting is bad but the jokes are well done
(mx) wrote: Wherever you stand on politics and the Bush administration, this is a documentary that is worth watching and discussing for the controversy and the cynicism.
(es) wrote: Didn't like this movie. Too sexual for me. I don't like comedies that are like that. I prefer clean funny, not perverted funny.
(ru) wrote: This movie easily competes for Worst Movie I Have Ever Seen (a title currently held by Ghosts in the Darkness.) I can understand and identify with the main character but I imagine most people aren't as crazy as I. What I cannot abide is the lack of sense and appropriate resolution within the story. An ordinarily flawless Julianne Moore looks terrible and lacks connection and Billy Crudup is relateable but the movie makes no use of it. Blecky bleck bleck.

(de) wrote: w/ C. Interesting flick. Slower but good characterization and intrigue with a fresh and real perspective on magical topics. Wouldn't think of it as a vampire tale.

(mx) wrote: A compelling documentary, though perhaps not for the reasons Schroeder intends. There's no denying Koko possesses intelligence, she does communicate on some level. But what's more striking are the MANY instances where her trainer obviously fills in the gaps for her, guides her answers, or creatively interprets her fumblings as conversation. After a while you get the feeling that all Koko ever really talks about is wanting more food or being tired of the training.

(br) wrote: Interesting adaptation (of shop around the corner) in that it stole the best lines and looked like a musical but wasn't. Judy Garland was pretty good tho.
(us) wrote: An intriguing and well made film, with notable performance by Evans.
(jp) wrote: This one was really disappointing to me. Nothing about it worked for me, not the screenplay, acting, cinematography or direction. It's surprising that a film starring Pacino and directed by Oscar winner Barry Levinson could be so bad. Even Greta Gerwig whom I normally like isn't great. There's several cameos, the only worthwhile one was Charles Grodin who I've always liked. Skip it!
(fr) wrote: This is one of my favourite Corman movies and favourite Price movies. Plus, it's got a cat, I love cats. I love the story too, it's very much like Poe's stories. And it has great atmosphere. I highly recommend it.
(de) wrote: The Beyond lacks a clear cohesive narrative in the traditional sense. In reality this work is made up of a collection of gory set pieces and eerie tones, however to dismiss any Lucio Fulci film as a result of plot is a mistake. Fulci's strength was his eye for unusual imagery. The scenes of transmogrified bodies are visually stunning and in true Fulci style he doesn't shy away the audience goes on the journey of splatter and death with him. It remains a must watch for Gore Hounds, Fulci Lovers and Video Nasty enthusiasts.
