Sums I (ca) wrote: Not as bad as I was expecting, the interplay between husband, wife, and desirable third-party Manuel was tense and realistic... even if the setup is a bit farcical. No person is entirely wholesome, which causes us to switch allegiances from time to time, and I found that intriguing. The film would've certainly been better without the strange voodoo sequences which serve only to mess up a survival story with weirdness. Seems like a complete after-thought, as if they simply needed to pad the run time. The voodoo gal is never explained, her reasoning left a secret, and the timing of her involvements sporadic at best. Kelly Brook is stunningly attractive and provides the main reason this film has 3 stars. She is sweet but sexy, trying desperately to keep two men from killing each other over her. When they talk about being stranded on an island with a beautiful woman.... now you know exactly what that would look like! Not anywhere near the masterpiece of "Castaway", but it does have somewhat of that same feel - stranded with hardly a chance of rescue. This movie focuses mainly on the human elements - the love triangle, the jealous husband, the womanizer, etc. I did like that certain survival tools did provide more fodder for fighting. Plenty of eye candy and a little emotional weight to keep it watchable.

Chronicles the rise of Takezo from hoodlum to Samurai and continues to become the legend in parts 2 and 3. Must see if you like Japanese culture or the history of the Samurai.

Andrew K (fr) wrote: it was decent the technical aspects where good, the woody wood pecker segment was hilarious, but other then that it was quite slow and dry but it wasn't horrible especially considering it was made 19 years before the actual moon landing, i wouldn't really recommend it but if you stumble on it it wasn't a complete waste of time.
