Ken S (it) wrote: I'm a fan of Mel Brooks. I like "The Producers", "Spaceballs" and "Blazing Saddles", and "Young Frankenstein" is one of my favorite comedies of all time...but "History of the World, Part I" is only okay. I think the "2001" parody in the open is great, and the Sid Caeser caveman stuff is terrific...from there it is hit and miss, some great jokes, some bad ones, and some that just seem a little off. There are some great jokes here and there, but the film is all over the place (and not just in it's intended presentation, but in terms of quality too). Major Mel Brooks fans may find more to enjoy, I found it was mixed results.

The mutant brother uses his powers of telepathy, super-human strength, and moving via stop-animation while the normal brother displays a formidable arsenal of weapons that include sucking face, naked night-running, and having REO Speedwagon hair. Everyone should watch this movie.
