Buggy B (br) wrote: Fairly disturbing documentary about young (way young) models scouted from their homes in Siberia and sent to Japan to model. -apparently the Japanese market likes young girls. Our main subject here is13. The girls are basically owned by their agency, waiting around in tiny, crappy apartments to go on shoots completely shut off due to the language barrier and a lack of cash. Ultimatly they will be sent home if they gain any weight or inches as outlined in their contract (um puberty!) Its very sad because the girls and their families think that they've won the lottery but in reality I saw it as just another form of trafficking. The scout who finds these girls is a former model and apparently hates the business but that doesn't stop her from exploiting them and living in a fancy house in America.03.13

Alex C (kr) wrote: This movie is ridiculous. The mall security guard carries a machine gun and opens fire on a guy for a simple assault on another patron, while Santa and kids are in the line of fire. It never really explains how the skin graft could cause her to mutate the way she did either. Cronenberg is crazy, which understandably results in strange sometimes confusing films, and a lot of his films deal with modern medicine/technology and bodily mutation as a result thereof, but this one just doesn't add up. See The Brood or Videodrome and pass on Rabid.

On a seemingly normal evening, Lorraine makes a pit-stop at a gas station. When she returns to the car, Chad has company in the back seat! Roy is a dangerous man on the run who after robbing a bank needs Lorraine and Chad to get him to the Mexican border. Throughout the torturous drive Roy seems like he could be a normal man, just someone that had no other choice, but slowly and without warning he turns on a dime, threatening their lives. Their edge of your seat journey forces her, however unwilling to become a stronger person and fight for a better life for both her and Chad.stars Maria Bello, Stephen Dorff, Joanna Cassidy, Gary Grubbs, Tim Griffin, Angelle Brooks, Catherine Dent, Connor Hill and Christopher Bello. directed by John Bonito.

Not sure how the liberals in Hollywood let this one get through but it was a refreshing change from their usual socialist crap.
