John B (de) wrote: Good movie about the Indian game of Lacrosse and it's heritage, not the greatest acting but, teaches good principles of finding your inner strength to be successful

Aditya B (us) wrote: A very 'real' story of reactions and adjustments of ordinary people to extra-ordinary situations, and has exceptional star-cast and some very good acting. A mix of slightly intertwined stories, none of them never-seen-before, but they're still very captivating. You might find the end concluded a bit incompletely, but then it's a 'real' movie, with which most people will be able to identify.

Kyle B (it) wrote: This is a wonderful movie with outstanding performances from Goldie Hawn, Edward Albert, and Eileen Heckhart. Every word spoke is this movie is wonderfully written and includes some of the best on screen dialogue I have heard. It's based off a play and it works perfectly as a film thanks to Hawn and Albert's pitch perfect chemistry.

Ryan V (nl) wrote: Akira Kurosawa cross-pollinates Macbeth with Noh theater for this gripping and powerful film. The story moves the Shakespeare tragedy to feudal Japan, but its minimalist sets, Buddhist motifs, and spartan dialogue make the resulting film into something far different from a mere adaptation. Toshiro Mifune dominates the running time with his ferocious rendition of the Macbeth analogue; Isuzu Yamada is also noteworthy as his manipulative wife. Kurosawa's wipes, rain scenes, and weather-beaten costumes are in full effect, yet his best efforts are exerted towards giving his cast enough room to get to the core of their characters and strut their stuff.

Thomas B (us) wrote: Good script, good acting and directing, and gorgeous setting - the perfect film for a spring Sunday afternoon.

Matthew H (ru) wrote: No one in "48 Hrs." seems to have a brain or any common sense whatsoever, and the movie has no respect for women and is tastelessly sexist. It's just dumb, clichd, genre fare that's somewhat entertaining.

Dylan D (kr) wrote: Imagine Earl Lynn Nelson as John Candy and Paul Eenhoorn as Steve Martin from Planes, Trains & Automobiles. One can't help but watch Land Ho! and wish it was a sequel, even if in spirit, because it seems like the perfect long-after-the-fact follow-up to that wonderful picture. There's the same basic character qualities, the same spirit of manly misadventure, and the same potential for classic laughs wrapped in a heartwarming story of friendship. Alas, Land Ho! can't live up to that admittedly unreachable legacy, a shame because all the pieces are in place for something much better. The movie feels a little too forced, a little too scattered, a little unsure of where it's going and what it wants to accomplish. It's never quite as funny as it wants to be and nowhere near as dramatic as it needs to be, instead meandering around a fairly barren middle ground with glimpses of greatness off in the distance but mostly hidden under the scattered light hits and large misses that play out in the foreground.
