The Night Before Christmas

A narrator sings the opening stanzas of the classic poem while we see the house at rest. Santa lands on the roof, comes down the chimney, and opens his bag. The toys march out and decorate the tree, with the toy soldiers shooting balls from their cannon, a toy airplane stringing a garland like skywriting, and the toy firemen applying snow. A blimp delivers the star to the top. Meanwhile, Santa fills the stockings. His laughter awakens the children, who sneak out. The toys rush to their places, and Santa escapes up the chimney just in time.

Aaron F (ru) wrote: Interesting documentary on movies made in the Philippines during the '70s and '80s.

Brad S (es) wrote: Not a great movie at all, weak script and nothing original in it, but I do really like Rockwell and Wilde. Aside from the 2 lead performances, there's not much to recommend it, but I just happen to like them enough to have made it worth watching for me.

Tammie K (ru) wrote: I love Morgan Spurlock and enjoyed this insightful documentary. At the end (in 2008) everyone was saying he was in Pakistan.

Javier O (nl) wrote: Great movie. One of few romantic movies I will ever recommend.

Thomas T (ag) wrote: With a plot so forgettable and providing a boasted cast and incoherent elements, Scary Movie 5 is not a film to look up for.

Nicola W (br) wrote: Not bad. It wasn't cheesy like Lake Placid but it was quite similar. I thought the ending was very unrealistic though

catia s (nl) wrote: This is a comedy and if you try to make more of it you will be disappointed. However if you see this movie for what it is you will have a great time. I watched about four times and still love it. I love the quirky dialog, the interaction the amazingly well done black comedy. I laugh all the way trough, so for me it worked... hope it works for you too.

Harlan H (gb) wrote: A very degrading film that is funny at times. The only good casting choice was Amanda Peet. Everyone else was pretty much awful throughout. Especially with line delivery. But the concept was intriguing enough to watch. I wouldnt really recommend this film to anyone.

Shelley T (gb) wrote: Same concept as the first...

SamandNissi H (it) wrote: Loved it since I was a teenager. Hillarious, quirky and a feel good film with a twist. Excellent ensemble.

John M (nl) wrote: Fun nostalgic journey to 1959. Great early performances from Ellen Barkin, Kevin Bacon, Paul Reiser, Daniel Stern among others.

Sean C (de) wrote: Underrated epic war movie on the end of Libya's resistance to Italy. Everything works and best of all the history is not even that far off. Oliver Reed makes for a great villain, combing charisma with a ruthless drive. The part where the tanks run people over is gruesome and horrifying.

Calum R (ru) wrote: Woody Allen is arguably one of the finest screenwriters in the history of cinema, and whilst I respect him as both an actor and director, his writing ability is second to none. His way with words is uncanny, his confidence in crafting characters that reek of charisma, in providing a raw and visceral study on the city and the people within. 'Manhattan' is just one stellar example of this, and whilst the film does trail off here and there into a depth of boredom, the witty and charismatic study present makes for a fantastic viewing experience."Chapter One. He was as tough and romantic as the city he loved. Behind his black-rimmed glasses was the coiled sexual power of a jungle cat." Opening to this enthralling monologue from the hands of Allen, we are instantly cast into a world that implements a raw and detailed look into a New York of yesteryear. Allen provides us with an intricate character study that addresses subjects like adultery, drug addiction and sexual prowess, whilst examining the effects on each individual and the city around them. Each acting body present gives their utmost best in regards to performances with Allen and Keaton leading the way, each captured stunningly by utterly gorgeous black and white cinematography that captures the hustle and bustle of the city in elaborate detail. Whilst the film does thin towards the middle, the confident screenplay and witty humour make up for the minor flaws that exist, thus giving us one of the most self-assured films in cinema.

Andruw F (ag) wrote: Very well acted and written, and is funny enough, and the direction seemed to be well, but you were mainly just watching the friends' great chemistry! Stifler was the best part, and thanks to fans saying that, they used him more in the sequels! This one is a little bit too sappy (and kind of romance genre) for my taste, but it's definitely not bad, and the laughs and performances make up for it. I'm very pleased that they add more comedy in the sequels. But this is still the best in the series, but not my favorite because it's not as funny as the sequels.
