And eventually, those intentions came true. Say anything is a example of an inspiring film that should be followed by today. An instant classic. It's not to mushy, and it doesn't have gut-busting laughs, but this film gives enough to satisfy. I'll agree that Ioan Skyes performance was a little shaky at first, but is charming along the way. Cameron Crowe should work on some character development, but made some fascinating chemistry between it stars. Also, this film had one of the best endings of all time.

(ag) wrote: The Guy From Harlem is possibly one of most poorly put together blaxploitation films that you're ever likely to see, and that's saying something. Inept doesn't even begin to describe it. No pacing to the editing whatsoever, horrible dialogue, inadequate acting, awful sets, and laugably bad costumes. It's all terrible from pre-production through to post-production. I don't think I've ever heard so many flubbed lines in one film. It's supposed to be a story about a cool private detective out to rid the city of the big boss known as Big Daddy, the white man. To say that this movie is hilarious would be a bit of an understatement, and I recommend that you watch it with the crew from Rifftrax to get the maximum amount of enjoyment out of it.

David Hentschel's (Van Der Graaf Generator, Nilsson, Genesis) score incorporates early electronic passages for the dialogue-free segments. This initially seems anachronistic, but later worked for me somewhat in the more action-oriented parts. Standard formula fare, but livened up by the odd music and great cast.

(jp) wrote: My Dinner with Andre is a thought provoking, perceptive and psychological film centered around a simple dinner conversation. Like a well written book, it puts vivid images in your mind of the stories and accounts these two characters intricately discuss. It raises important questions on how we perceive humanity as a whole and challenges us to step outside ourselves and examine our life to see what conclusions we draw from it. My Dinner with Andre is a deep, intellectually beautiful film.
