Danielle K (ru) wrote: This story is very bizarre. I haven't read the memoir, so it has left me wondering if this movie could have possibly done it justice. Mental illness seems to be a strangely light topic, and there doesn't seem to be any main theme to tie all of the chaos and craziness together.

David G (es) wrote: The clean and glossy look does take away from the stylized horror Raimi made his own in the genre, but, even with a PG-13 rating, the director still knows how to give you a fright and entertain you at the same time with some over the top fun.

Ilja S (de) wrote: What a shitfest of a movie this is. Pure popcorn, with plots from Jurassic Park, The Beast from 20,000 Phatoms and Independence Day, all rehashed into one huge piece of crap that for no reason whats or ever is called Godzilla.

Manu G (kr) wrote: Stay up. Never down. Good Movie! While not nearly as powerful the movie did remind me a little of American History X in the the way that a person can live his life one way without apologizing but when removed from that life he realizes the error in his ways and tries everything he can to change. There are some pretty big names in this movie but the kid that plays James is a perfect choice and really carries as well as outshines everyone else. While this is in no way a perfect movie I do recommend this and was surprised by how good it was. Overall, a lighter version of American History X that I recommend. The fact that this was a true story helped as well. The true story of James Burns who, as a teenager goes from the suburban street gangs of Denver to a maximum-security prison cell surrounded by hardened criminals. In this unlikely setting, will James emerge with hope and a brighter future?
