He spent most of his time drinking and passing out on his boat by himself and not talking to anyone. It was just a bit too depressing for me, which is shocking, I like dark depressing flicks. Just not this kind I guess."

Rich A (nl) wrote: Wowser! First of all it was great to see the ample talents of Michelle Marsh in this!!!!! Quality brit flick that had a gritty harshness that Lock Stock etc lose in the big budgets. Colin Salmon is quality and you really get to like the 'good guys' and hate the 'baddies'!!

Matt G (us) wrote: Every time that animated, red-orange sun crests over the horizon, with the music packing an emotional wallop as giant as the fun to come, I'm completely overwhelmed. A Shakespearean drama in the truest sense, its effective both tragically (Mufasa's demise, confrontation with Scar) and comically (Hyenas, Timon & Pumba). Not to mention Scar is among the most awesomely evil Disney villains; envy, greed, treason, murder, & Irons freaking kills it.

Orlok W (ca) wrote: Uneven, but gritty and effectively grim, tale based on an actual "ghost ship" legend--Lugosi In A Great, Though Atypical Role!!

Bradley W (kr) wrote: Funny in parts, but hilarious in most. Heder and Ferrell have great chemistry. Definitely a lot funnier than it should have been. Both actors made the most they could out of a very weak plot.

Louisa T (ru) wrote: Simultaneously funny and depressing.

Kathleen W (jp) wrote: It's hard to watch this again and to try and see it ""objectively"" when your childhood (and national pride) is so wrapped up in it. It's a little refreshing to be able to watch it and say, I don't like this kind of filmmaking. The quick closeups and one-liner dialogue, it's big budget big story hollywood here in New Zealand and it knows exactly what it is. And it's really good at what it does.
