The Puffy Chair

The Puffy Chair

Josh's life is pretty much in the toilet. He's a failed NYC indie rocker, and a failing booking agent. But he finds the potential of a small victory in a really bad idea. He decides to purchase a 1985 Lazy Boy on eBay, just like the one his dad had when Josh was a kid. He'll drive cross-country for the chair, staying with Emily at his brother's house on the way, and deliver it to his father as a surprise birthday gift. But when Rhett ends up coming along for the ride, it's three people and a giant purple puffy chair in a too-small van... and one of them has to go before the trip's end.

Steve O (jp) wrote: Shows how much a soundtrack can help a B movie turn into something neat. And mysterious creatures eating a disease inside people. And an ending so bizarre and enigmatic you hope the director is given two dollars to play with next round.

Bengt W (ca) wrote: Ytterliggare vatten p min kvarn. Biografi-filmer suger. En soppa av usla karikatyrer, dlig dialog, peruker och klyschiga ytligheter om det "frna" sextiotalet. Undvik.

Patrick D (it) wrote: Johnny Was what??? Dull? Uninspiring? Pointless? Silly? So not Lock Stock??? Don't waste your time on this nonsense. Seriously.

Elle Q (it) wrote: this movie was described to me as korea's version of blade runner. it's very reminiscent, but absolutely nowhere near as good. it is more of a love story but a kind of weak one simply bc the plot is seriously lacking: predictable and full of holes. which is too bad cuz i really, really wanted to love it but instead i ended up only liking it. it's cool as shit to look at though - gorgeously filmed/made (even when it feels like youre watching a video game) and one of the best film interpretations of cyberpunk ive seen.

Madeline M (ru) wrote: I have a difficult time processing visual art, being mostly a literary person, so it was interesting to watch this movie about Goldsworthy - who is basically the opposite. It's a pensive kind of documentary, as well as a thought-provoking one. Goldsworthy himself seems a bit embarrassed sometimes at having to explain what he does, or rather at having so much attention paid to him, but he's always an engaging on-screen presence even when he isn't actually saying anything. He's quite humble and dedicated - make sure you pay attention to his hands over the course of the movie.

Shane Z (nl) wrote: A step down but not a BIG one, despite being this time a direct to video. This film marks the first and only time legendary cinematographer Dean Cundey's chance as an director (to date).Taking place about five years (maybe) After Honey I Blew up the kid, with no understandable year of date. We see little Adam as now a "preteen", Nick and Amy have gone off to college and with Robert Oliveri and Amy O'Neal both retired in 1994, and remember the dog kork? Yeah, he went to heaven... He along with some relatives and friends don't realize their in a "nutty" situation when Wayne (Rick Moranis) and wife, Diane, brother Gordan and sister-in law, Patty accidentally shrunken themselves. For some illogic, I always kinda thought this film was fine; not great but watchable than "Blew up". Clean, tiny fun. If you never realized, this has marked the final live-action film Moranis has starred in before his subsequent retirement from acting. Oh Moranis that sucks!

Wes S (de) wrote: The plot is so-so, but interesting. It doesn't develop enough, but it works. Short running time, which makes this film a breeze to sit through. The setting is good, the characters are lacking, but overall, the movie is watchable.

Kevin E (fr) wrote: This was quite a good movie but was quite hard to get what it was about. The acting was really good and hopkins was very good as usual. It's not a film I would buy but it might appeal to some. I wouldn't recommend it really.
