Rangan R (gb) wrote: Never fear... Miss Meadows is here. This is not the film everybody was expecting. But not bad to try after coming to know it. It is a black comedy, about a young single woman, a substitute elementary school teacher who moved to a new neighbourhood. She has no limit for her imaginations. Her world was full of wondrous, but there's a little dark secret too. Later, when she comes to face a big hurdle, how she's going to handle her new boyfriend who is a cop and from there where it heads was revealed. It was a Katie Holmes' show. It was a short film, but she was always there, the camera always with her. I'm seeing her film after a long time. She looks a bit old for this role, but worked well. The supporting cast was okay though. That little girl from 'Girl Meets World, Ava, was good. The film looks okay for all ages, but slightly violent with killing and other crime exposing scenes. Especially it is not for young kids, despite the film theme looks a bit magical. So it should be PG13.A decent writing and direction. The whole film was shot within two and half weeks. Because the story was simple, that takes place in the limited enclosures. So the experience of watching it was like a television film, but it is not. You might have seen some of the similar films, but still it is worth a watch. Not deliberately going for it, though when you ran out of the options.6/10

Janice P (ag) wrote: Surprisingly funny remake of The House on Sorority Row. The standout here is Leah Pipes and queen bee, Jessica. Her one liners and bitchy attitude keep this fairly by the numbers slasher afloat. The last 10 minutes or so are a giant misfire, but there are quite a few fun moments before that. It's never very scary or even suspenseful, but the cast is above average for a film like this and there's a few great zingers (usually delivered by Pipes).

Rodney E (kr) wrote: Igby Goes Down tries way too hard to be the new people's cool favorite that it recycles the same old traits and tries to pass it off as edgy. Got some good actors in here and some shit ones as well and it's a constant tug of war between good and bad acting. Would have worked way better as a book. Was this adopted from a book? Jeff Goldblum steals all the scenes that he is in but you've got too many weaknesses from Ryan Phillipe and Claire Danes..not to mention that the lead character is totally whooptydoo too.

David F (it) wrote: The cast of the Maltese Falcon (sans Peter Lorre) team up once again for pretty standard WWII intrigue. Greenstreet is a reliable heavy, and Astor seems to be enjoying a lighter role than Brigid O'Shaunghessy, providing light comic relief for Bogart to play off of. Unfortunately, the film holds to many stock Japanese stereotypes common to the time, but c'est le guerre, I suppose.
Chris F (gb) wrote: This film is haunting, beautiful and sad. A Woman who was a brilliant artist lived her life alone and did not get the fame she deserved until after death.

Matt S (ag) wrote: This film is one that is considered to be one of the bad ones but to be honest, it is a decent enough film. The ideas of Liberalism are presented fairly well. Once the crew realizes that the inhabitants of a planet are being used for a study by an alien, they must help free them. The planet has a reverse aging affect on every member of the crew but Data, because he is an android. This has all the ideas that I think make Star Trek transcend decades and genres. Of course the villain can be a bit goofy at times but even the bet villains can't help but chew the scenery at times. As with First Contact, Jonathan Frakes directs this one and a think he does a fine job. I say give this one a shot if you are up for a exploration of freedom and free will.
