Humans are few and far between since Earth was invaded by unseen extraterrestrial machines that harvest the planet's natural resources and relentlessly kill its inhabitants. In a remote part of the countryside, where starved humans have become as dangerous as the alien machines hovering in the sky, a feisty 19 year old girl, Sarah Connolly, sets out on a desperate attempt to fight back a group of bandits and defend her parents' farm, their remaining livestock, and the solar panels that keep them safe from extraterrestrials. If she doesn't succeed, she will lose her only source of food and shelter; but if she resists, she and her helpless blind sibling will be killed. And if the mysterious intruder dressed like a soldier who claims he can help them turns out to be a liar, then the enemy may already be in the house. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

(es) wrote: Well I had such high hopes for this film from the synopsis but it turned out to be just "OK". It was very cliche and corny in parts and very good in others. Was more like amateur hour than a REAL film. Still alright just not what I expected.
(es) wrote: Just a Question of Love (2000) Not just another gay movie. A gay french movie. I don't know why french directors can make movies and succeed where so many American movies fail. This is an interesting and involving tale of love and thanks to the director it does not cross the line into a TV like melodrama. (Even though it was originally broadcast on public TV in France) Very real and interesting. Also this movie well plotted and constructed. I have not seen that many gay movies but some I have seen are so poor in plot and commercially crass. What makes this film work where so many other gay films fail is the substance of the story and the performances. Christian Faure adapted (and then directed) the original story by Annick Larboulette about a closeted gay lad who finds himself and love while at agricultural school in France. The film was originally shown in 2000 on France 2, a publiclyfunded television station. The young guys must choose between love for each other or love of their parents. Or they must reach some median balance. This is a very good film four stars.

(kr) wrote: Takashi Miike is a mixed bag of a director. There are some films that come across as brilliant and others that are just so-so. Fudoh: The New Generation is one that falls into the latter category. There isn't much depth to the story, as it is basically assassination after assassination in a Yakuza themed film. Of course Miike tends to spice it up with the usual unique characters, bloody violence, nudity, sex, and strong language. This will come across as entertaining, however there are times when it is just unnecessary. It is almost like overbuilding certain aspects of the film. The violence is a plenty and bloody. I mean, there are young kids and school girls performing kills in this picture. Seems like the typical gangster thugs aren't enough. The nudity and sex is a bit much at times. One of Fudoh's right hand gals shoots darts from her lower lips. Yeah, that's right. There are also times where it seems that this is on the verge of wanting to turn into a soft core porn. The acting is over the top and it matches with Miike's characters. Shosuke Tanihara is a little disappointing as Fudoh, but the beautiful schoolgirls in Tamaki Kenmochi and Miho Nomoto are there to take your eyes off of him. Riki Takeuchi is good, even though his character suffers from too little airtime, and Kenji Takano looks like he doesn't belong.Fudoh: The New Generation will excite some and freak out others. Feel free to take a chance on this one.

(us) wrote: Chris Sun is obviously a sick man, maybe even approaching a Tom Six level of depravity, and I wouldn't be surprised if the two of them, Darren Lynn Bousman, and Eli Roth hang out on a regular basis. This is possibly one of the most brutal movies of all time, yet there isn't really any originality or substance. That's a couple hours I'll never get back...
