Through the guise of a road trip film, we follow a group/family unit of young, poor magazine salesmen as they travel through America and into the heart of America. The writing and directing (by Andrea Arnold) are fantastic, and the editing (by Joe Bini) is great as well. Sasha Lane and Shia LaBeouf are both great, and put on nuanced performances. Not just a story about youth, but also a story about modern America, American Honey is one sweet film.

As for the kids, they aren't mad that he lied to them for 20 years, they just want there daddy back. Those are the two things wrong with this movie, and yet, it is still quite enjoyable, and Vaughn himself is very good. It's advertised as a comedy but if you really pay attention to the trailer you knew it was going to be more of a drama, and it is quite dramatic with a few funny lines thrown in mostly spoken by Chris Pratt. Vince Vaughn shows his ability as an actor and that he doesn't always have to be the comedic genius he once was and that he can show his range in dramatic acting. He just plays a man with no life other than the fact he is a meat truck driver, he decides that he wants to have a life and that he wants to be the guardian angel for his kids and gives the movie a heart at the end, whether or not the reactions of everyone involved works, it is still worth watching. MILD RECOMMENDATION for Vince Vaughn.

(es) wrote: The Only thing this film got right historically is the look of Queen Margot. Everything else is horribly inaccurate or exaggerated. Beyond that most of the film is just the actors pushing each other around or screwing. So boring I fell asleep.
