Kevin M (gb) wrote: One of the most peculiar films I've ever seen: which is the entire point of the movie. On the surface, it appears to be one big fart joke, but after reading up on analysis and theories, my perspective on Swiss Army Man changed. It's well-shot, well-acted, and is downright hilarious, for the first 20 minutes or so. The jokes get old very fast, and the plot gets very confusing (which is why it is essential to research the themes and analysis). For a film that was only 95 minutes long, I found myself itching for it to be over. It did however grow on me, and it's still stuck in my mind because it's that strange, and the ending (mostly) made up for the dullness that plagues the middle act. It seemed like the actors had more fun making the movie than I did watching it, but it has my respect for being so original and smartly written.

Alex F (au) wrote: Visualmente interesante, pero con un guin pauprrimo, con nulo desarrollo o personajes que enganchen. Un espagueti western estilo Mad Max, que puedo ver un milln de veces, y no entender de que trata realmente.

Mateo S (jp) wrote: Could possibly be my favorite documentary ever. It's so incredibly insightful, emotional, cerebral, cathartic, effusive, logical and on & on. McNamara is an interesting man who obviously has major concerns about his role in global events -- concerns that he's turned into lessons for posterity. He was responsible for the death of hundreds of thousands or even millions -- but I get the feeling that he truly didn't think what he was doing was essentially "evil" -- or at least he was abiding evildoing by LBJ in Vietnam and then Nixon in Cambodia. This movie seems to serve as his mea culpa and his version of atonement; and I'm apt to give him the benefit of the doubt. This is such a powerful doc -- definitely worth a see.

An average movie i would say with a decent story that will keep you interested altho it has some slow parts but very watchable flick overall. Both of this actors keeps a solid level usually in every role they make so you know what you get.

Tim S (it) wrote: William A. Wellman's silent masterpiece Wings is regarded as one of the best war films ever made. It was the only silent film to win an Academy Award for Best Picture, as well as one for Best Visual Effects. The Academy Awards first came into being during the film's release, so it was in the right place at the right time. Going into this, I was expecting some marvelous aerial footage, as I had been led to believe that it had such. I wasn't disappointed, and the combination between the effects, mock-ups and real footage is pretty seamless, even today. The performances are all terrific too, including a young Clara Bow and an early appearance by Gary Cooper. The film stars Charles Rogers and Richard Arlen who are two men that dream of flying airplanes, getting their wish when they're called to war. Both find love and loss along the way, leading to the film's heartbreaking but emotionally-fulfilling conclusion. My only gripe with it is that it ends in a very cliche'd way, which I won't spoil for those who haven't seen it. Those who have seen it and know how it ends, most films ended this way throughout the this time period. It's the only thing at odds with the overall quality of the film, at least to me. Otherwise, it's a dynamite piece of cinema.
