(jp) wrote: It's factual and if you are interested in what happened to this group of spineless nutters then watch it. I found it boring. The story itself isn't that boring so I feel that they could have made more out of this than they did. Should definately not win the Oscar.

(nl) wrote: Mickle combines George Romero's social commentary and Terence Malick's spacey poetics, yet the expressive rendering of rural locations is distinctive and the vision of societal breakdown fully imagined (in one inspired scene, refugees holding a dance at their makeshift camp suggest pilgrims in a John Ford western). In fact Mickle's observation of a devastated working-class America is so sharp that the horror elements, though effectively handled, come to feel like an afterthought.
(nl) wrote: Excellent movie. Very well written and acted, with a lot of humor and plot twists and a happy ending.. It does seem like a Canadian movie, but that is good. They avoid all the Hollywood formulaic scripts.
(br) wrote: Very good movie? It makes you think about life and security. For a 'criminologist' a must see movie.

(br) wrote: A horror film with a really basic plot that aims for the shock factor and tension. Wrong turn is a good down basic entertaining film, about three inbred hillbilly psychos killing anyone they come across. Because of the simple plot this film get straight to the point. Great for a halloween night in.

(br) wrote: Quite possibly one of the worst films of all time. I remember seeing it when I was young and still realized how dumb it was. It was in TV the other day I got a glimpse and wanted to jump off a ledge. Bad bad stuff here.
(br) wrote: One of my favorite memories of the 90's is watching this film repeatedly after getting home from middle-school. I just watched it for the first time in 20 years and it still holds up as an entertaining thriller with strong performances from Rob Lowe and James Spader.
(fr) wrote: Steven Spielberg is pretty brilliant. Movies like this, E.T., and Jaws still resonate today. Even though the special effects have improved greatly these films still live up to what they were back in the '70's and '80's. It's been a long time since I've seen this from start to finish and it is still impressive. Great movie!!
(br) wrote: It had been an easy ten years since I saw this last and it still holds up nicely. Love the cheesiness of the script and graphic novel style shots.

(au) wrote: i don't care what anyone says, i really like this film. i loved it as a kid and watching it now, i still find it sweet and entertaining. i think it has a sweet albiet simple message and a lot of funny moments. jack black and gwyneth paltrow also have a really good chemistry, surprising enough. on the whole, it's not high art by any definition of the word, but it's still a good, light-hearted watch.
(ag) wrote: This is a fun film, although Cameron has done better (Aliens and Terminator 2 easily top this one). It's very enjoyable and combines explosive action with humorous moments. You can tell why Curtis was the perfect choice for the Mrs. Tasker role, she looks silly as Mr. Tasker's (Schwarzenegger) wife, while Arnold clearly looks ill-fitted in the role of a computer salesman. Again, not Cameron's best moment, but a very fun action-packed film.
