The Shift

From the creators of You Can Heal Your Life: The Movie comes a compelling portrait of three modern lives in need of new direction and new meaning. In his first-ever movie, Wayne Dyer explores the spiritual journey in the second half of life when we long to find the purpose that is our unique contribution to the world. The powerful shift from the ego constructs we are taught early in life by parents and society—which promote an emphasis on achievement and accumulation—are shown in contrast to a life of meaning, focused on serving and giving back. Filmed on coastal California’s spectacular Monterey Peninsula, The Shift captures every person’s mid-life longing for a more purposeful, soul-directed life.

Dustin G (gb) wrote: I know very little about the ELF. In fact most of what I know now came from this. But this is a well made, engaging documentary about environmental extremists that has a protagonist who may or may not go to jail for the rest of his life adding a little extra emotional pull to the material. The filmmakers take a pretty neutral stance in their presentation of events and give both sides a chance to speak their mind. The ending was good also, fitting. That's all I say about it so as not to ruin anything.

Rodney E (ca) wrote: Something felt like it was missing as there is a lot of unanswered questions but I was creeped out by a few scenes. The atmosphere was pretty good and some of the characters fell into annoying moments but creative kills and decent makeup made this a worthy horror movie.

Not only in design or architecture but in various fields such as social interactions, space perception and it's impact on people, civil engineering ideas, religious concepts... Now it goes without saying that all this is an extreme conception of what our future might be but first, people would have to look towards such an idea for it to happen. Hence this movie... Just watch it ;)

Cade H (de) wrote: The first half of the movie had me worried. This "found footage" home video camera style film focused on a group of friends traveling across the country visiting haunted houses and documenting it all. It all started out a little slow with little jokes and un-scary trips through haunted houses. After awhile a couple scares and creepy moments were thrown in but it still did not add up to much, it was just a big lead up of anticipation for something. The final 20 minutes however were incredibly scary and had me on the edge of the couch, drawn into the movie just waiting to see what fate awaited everyone. The camera footage got a little crazy at the end and it seemed like they didn't take advantage of everything they had going but it got down right creepy. Not all of the scares worked but the ones that did were great. If you are into the found footage style horror movies, this one should be a treat and scare anyone a little too.
