The Sixth Sense

Carmen is happy. She is in love with Carlos, a young man filled with optimism, the exact opposite of his taciturn and tormented friend Leon. On Carlos’ advice, Leon pays a visit to Professor Kamus, whose invention reveals the truth about beings and things. This invention is none other than the cinema, which he presents as a sixth sense. From then on, an unfortunate misunderstanding puts Carlos and Carmen’s love in danger.

Varun R (mx) wrote: From easy listening to big band swinging to rock and roll, a music lover shall find purpose in the movie. Recommends: Good pair of headphones, a pre-listen to Grateful dead albums for the uninitiated and money to buy some good records afterwards.

Ida K (ru) wrote: A lot of people liked this movie but I didn't because it was too gruesome.

Anders A (us) wrote: Horror in its prime glory. The fading boundaries between reality and fictionality becomes so blurred thats impossible to separate. The never ending nightmare seems to just escalate towards a schizofrene obscureness of death and doom. Carpenter leaves nothing to compromise, its just plain evil madness, thats why this is so genuine.

Richard S (es) wrote: A supposedly serious film, which in all truth for at least the first hour is a very good, black comedy. An estranged husband whose wife has taken an out an injunction on him, he supposedly travels to work and back each day, unbeknown to his mother that he had been laid off a month before. Desperate to get in touch with his ex-wife and his daughter on his little girl's birthday, he encounters a couple of thugs who try to rob him, whom he takes revenge on in the deadlliest of fashion, hold up a take away as he cannot get breakfast 3 minutes after they have finished serving, completely destroys a grocers store when he cannot get change to make a telephone call and encounters a Neo-nazi shopkeeper when he tries to buy a pair walking boots. With the saddest of endings this tells the tale of one man's bad luck.

Alan W (ca) wrote: A dated and almost amateurishly primitive film (what's with the music? More B-movie horror than avant-garde to me), but it is the fact that it still raises issues relevant decades later that gains this 3 stars. Narratively it is often broken and head-scratching and the acting can be stiff (pun intended), but the brave and frank representation of gay lifestyles makes this film unique not only then but also now and therefore is undeniably an important part of cinematic history.
