(us) wrote: I suggest to watch the first one before watching this, it will bring confusion for sure. I do watch both. I thought the first was pretty dramatic than the sequel. Maybe the story line, or maybe the execution, but it just lacks the tone that I'm looking for. I thought this one had a potential to have a better story. The revenge, those comebacks, the renewed family system inside the Yakuza, and the surprised plot twist that ended up in a surprising killing spree. The story lacks direction, you don't know where or when will it end up. You kinda ask yourself, what the hell that guy and that guy and those guys are doing in the first place? Still a premise that will mark up Takeshi's one of the best crime thrillers ever made.3.5/5

(ru) wrote: A touching and sometimes darkly humorous portrait of a family trying to deal with the death of a child. As often happens in such cases, it almost tears the family apart, since all are attempting to deal with their grief by themselves. What allows this family to finally come together is the revelation of a secret truth, and that there is a great danger of losing the child they still have.

It's kind of like some Kevin Costner movies- you never heard anything about it, but when you watch it, it's surprisingly good. It gets a little confusing, because there are flashbacks involved. I liked it a lot and thought it was a solid suspense movie...
(ag) wrote: The slow pace of this movie prevents it from achieving the brilliance it could have...Further, the detachedness from historical reality may be unpalatable to many...However, the final score of R.D. Burman is masterly and each song is a classic...The performances are good and the technical aspects (especially the cinematography and the art work) are laudable...But the movie is a good example of a brilliant opportunity lost...
(nl) wrote: This film has just the right amount of drama and suspense without making it seem like it's trying too hard to be a nightmare but at the same time definitely keeps from being boring. Michael Keaton's best roles have always been when he's some kind of psychopath - like Desperate Measures - so this was a great role for him.
(nl) wrote: I was expecting this to be really trashy, but it's not. It's a really effective low-budget action film with some light exploitation touches.
(it) wrote: A great parody of the 70s action movies, great use of soundtracks and cinematography to capture the era, I laughed out loud a lot in this movie and this rarely happens to me, this is definitely one of the best comedies I have ever seen
(ag) wrote: Zoe Saldana doing her thing was all that made this watchable, the story and directing was messy and the dialogue was truly horrendous.
