(br) wrote: A very powerful and heartbreaking, but wonderful film that can be seen by all ages. With bits of light humour thrown in perfectly, it may not be as powerful as the TV series, but The animation is practically heavenly. Some characters from the Tv series aren't present, but the movie is still a wonderful film, with themes on friendship, love, and family.

You may say that it's biased - of course Dawkins' agenda is clear from the get-go, and to anyone who knows the first thing about the man and his writings, it's clear before watching the film. But Dawkins gives the viewer a fresh look at the subject matter, and raises important questions that will disturb many moderately religious people, even if they will be scoffed at by the more radical fundamentalists. If you enjoyed Bill Maher's Religulous, check this one out for a more informative and deeper exploration of the same subjects.
(us) wrote: this is why i love foreign horror films. Japan and Korea just kick the crap out of every other country -- their plots are so insanely smart and there's so many twists and turns you can't possibly guess the endings. i can maybe think of 1 or 2 American or Spanish films that i could also stick in this category, but even so, they're just not the same. nobody else writes plots like this. it's weird, disturbing and not for the faint of heart, but if you're looking for a mind blowing story, i recommend it.
(us) wrote: A decent (but unremarkable) giallo from director Dario Argento. It comes nowhere near the surreal, dreamlike heights of something like SUSPIRIA, but Argento does manage to include many of his trademark murder sequences, and the idea of a mystery/horror novelist getting tangled up in a real-life mystery is a fun concept (though certainly not a new one, even in 1982). On a purely technical note, I do have to single out the dubbing of the Italian actors, which is hilariously bad, which may or may not be a good thing depending on who you are.

(nl) wrote: The emotions that the actors gave in this movie were so good that little dialogue was needed and the film was very beautiful visually. However this movie has weak storytelling, I found it hard to believe that the wife just forgave her husband instantly and then they just seemed to forget that he actually tried to kill his wife. So much things happened in one day, it would have been better if the story was spread across several days.

(gb) wrote: Here is a movie that anti-rock folks could use to have their children stray away. The plot involves an unsympathetic teenager going through the stages of the tired high school life where stereotypes exist and separate itself from actual life. We get all that crap as teen outcast Eddie complains and moans about his problems while the lame writing kicks in. I didn(TM)t care about this kid as I didn(TM)t believe him at all. Anyways, he follows an idol named Sam Curry a shock rocker that(TM)s not appealing nor terrifying as Blackie Lawless, but his world is crushed when he learns Curry is dead from a fire. Nuke (Gene Simmons) says the best line about Curry as Curry began to believe in his own hype, something that hit Guns N Roses and NWA. The plot becomes dumber as it involves backward messaging and demon havoc that(TM)s not suspenseful and lousy. The music was pretty good and Ozzy Osbourne has comical cameo, but it was far from saving this film. I liked the supporting actor who plays Roger in the film. This is a film that does unnecessary division of people based on certain things and builds a wall were folks can(TM)t seem to integrate or communicate. What a terrible movie, with an awful idea. It reminds me of the film Slaughter High another truly atrocious film.
