Nina M (jp) wrote: What can I say about this one that I didn't say about the first one? It still sucks balls - and not in a good way! This has an even worse plot, more terrible acting and fewer hot guys. I got nothing more to say other than; Stay clear of this one!

Zack B (it) wrote: Incredibly lame attempt to bring the Chicago serial killer to the big screen. Movie works better as an unintentional comedy rather than a horror-bio.

Natalie R (ca) wrote: Worst animated movie of all time, hands down. The animation is beyond terrible, the sexual innuendos are too disgusting for a movie for adults, much less kids, and they do nothing with concept of having food mascots come to life, opting instead to focus on food puns and Nazism. As a matter of fact I had to stop this film every 20 minutes, it was so horrible. It may have only been 91 minutes, but it felt like 4 hours. The fact that this movie has an all-star cast makes it that much worse. There are 0 redeeming qualities about this movie. It isn't so bad it's good; it's so bad it's pure garbage.0/10, every single person involved in making this should be ashamed of themselves.

Ray B (au) wrote: Such a great flick. Like the info said, a sweeping story set in a Dickensian world. Any film that pulls off bleak and optimistic deserves a pat on back. Recommended.

Luc L (fr) wrote: Corny, bizarre, weird and wildly ambitious, unfocused movie. It is a exercise in style. The story is nearly incoherent but it is a live-action cartoon. Raimi shows some talent here in his Hollywood, low budget effort.

Jason G (it) wrote: Not as good as the first one but fun none the less.

Grant S (us) wrote: Brilliant, intense, realistic, gritty WW2 drama.1941 and the Battle of the Atlantic - German U-boats versus freighters supplying Britain - is underway. We see this struggle from the side of a German U-boat crew, U-96. We them relaxing and having fun in port, the boredom of patrol, the tension of stalking a convoy and the sheer terror when they become the hunted.Superb military drama. Probably the most accurate depiction of wartime submarine life you'll ever see, and surely one of the most realistic war dramas ever made. Incredibly tense at times and extremely enthralling.Quite novel for its time in that it is a WW2 story told from the German perspective. Superb plot, great action scenes, especially for its time, and solid performances. Hard to find a fault with this. A masterpiece.

The Critic (nl) wrote: A stellar cast, including a scene-stealing Helen Hayes, effectively battle airborne melodrama. Spawned three sequels and inspired the 'Airplane' films (1980-1982).

Russell H (br) wrote: This started off well with some humor. Then when you see Godzilla, the film is ruined. It continues to be entertaining but it should have been called something else. This is not Godzilla. This is a movie about a giant asexual lizard that hatches velociraptors.

Jacob M (de) wrote: In Anchors Aweigh, two Navy men, Joseph Brady (Gene Kelly) and Clarence Doolittle (Frank Sinatra) are on leave and head for Hollywood so Joe can teach Clarence how to impress the girls, particularly movie stars. But the star they end up meeting is newcomer Susan Abbott (Kathryn Grayson), who also raises an orphaned boy named Donald (Dean Stockwell), who wants to join the Navy. Joe convinces Susan that Clarence has arranged her to perform with musician Jose Iturbi (played by himself), but Clarence, while at first enjoyed by this, starts to develop a romance with a waitress from Brooklyn (Pamela Britton). This was the first collaboration between Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra, and while it sounds like an unlikely duo, they actually work well. It's clearly shown in one of the dance numbers where the two are in sync with one another, and Frankie didn't know how to dance real well. Gene taught him, and the results are incredible. Gene also does a lot of solo dances and are pretty impressive, particularly in a dream sequence with Jerry the mouse.I enjoyed the cast in this. Besides Kelly and Sinatra, there's Kathryn Grayson as the female lead and she can sing really well (I was the only one in the family who thought she could). Jose Iturbi is a very talented musician and several sequence show off his piano-playing talents, and these sequences are some of the best in the film.If I enjoyed the cast, the musical talents, and the dancing choreography, then what did I not like about Anchors Aweigh? Well, for starters, it's too long. The film is two hours and 20 minutes, and the pacing is super slow, especially for a musical (which is weird cause some of the best musicals ever made, such as The Sound of Music, are much longer). Also, I was not that impressed with the songs. Aside from "The Worry Song" (the song featuring Jerry) and songs called "Susie" and "We Hate to Leave", everything else is dull, dull, dull, with the Frankie songs being the worst offenders. The redeeming part of the Frankie songs are his singing quality. The film also has some good comedy, particularly in the "Susie" number. It was fun to see Gene Kelly playing a piano by repeatedly sitting on it. While the pacing was slow and the majority of the songs were dull, Anchors Aweigh has a great cast, some incredible dance choreography, and some phenomenal singing talents. It's a good watch, but you'll get more out of Gene Kelly in Singin' in the Rain and Frank Sinatra in High Society.
