Leave C (it) wrote: Very slow. Overly dramatic music, and I feel like I have seen this movie over and over already. I do not get all the rave reviews for this.

Amanda C (nl) wrote: I'm not a fan of documentaries, so 24 City is not really the kind of film I find particularly interesting. That said it is a beautifully shot film, and is fairly interesting in the contrast presented between the three generations all with connections to factory 420. The film becomes even more interesting after discovering that the people interviewed were a combination of 'real' interviews and those performed by actors, calling into question the documentary aspects of the film and the manipulation that is always present within a film, brought forward by the filmmaker.

Ibraheem M (us) wrote: Fisher is full energy and gives a good performance, but that is not good enough to save the film from being dumb and mainstream.

Robert L (br) wrote: Honestly, this is a pretty decent indie flick.

Evan M (mx) wrote: Herzog = Legend. Pure tragedy, even at its most uplifting. A heartbreaking, avoidable tale.

Russell G (it) wrote: Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett are not to blame for this. Their characters suck, and the writing is worse. Nothing remotely funny happens in the first half of the movie, as a straightforward murder case it set up. If the filmmakers want us to take this seriously, then why spell everything out right up front. On the other hand, if they are shooting for comical, they flat out missed. Are we supposed to think two cops working part-time jobs on the side while on duty during a serious case is funny? The second jobs of real-estate agent and part time yoga instructor and aspiring actor do not enrich the story, nor do they help crack the case . They do not even contribute any amusing laughs. Things seem to pick up, and then it loses all credibility when they go to Ford's psychic girlfriend to locate the murder. The only thing worse than this is that it works! The ending is a long chase sequence that is funny and entertaining, but payoff is not there. It is just not clear whether this movie intends to be serious police mystery or playful action comedy, either way it fails at both. I can excuse Hartnett for taking this movie, but Harrison Ford is above this kind of work. He has a legacy to protect and disappointments like this tarnish it.

Santosh D (fr) wrote: one of the best gangster movie Bollywood- or anybody, for that matter- has ever produced. Perfection to its very core, this is an instant modern masterpiece. Chakravarthi is phenomenal, so is Manoj Bajpei- in fact they won national awards for their roles. And probably one of the best movie of Urmila- man she appears heartbreakingly sweet and innocent. Ram Gopal Verma's masterpiece- i became a huge fan of the director- though he started disappointing me in the days to come. He also made a remake of Godfather, which was a hit too; but i always hold his original works 'satya' and 'company' to be his ultimate masterpieces.

J M (au) wrote: Nice early Lee Marvin picture with some fine period cinematic moments and character actors, especially Richard Egan. Why the hell did they shoot this in CinemaScope though? It doesn't work at all, let alone in a character-driven film.

Bradley W (fr) wrote: Friday Night Lights is a brilliant sports drama that focuses heavily on its characters, which ultimately makes for Peter Berg's best film. It has emotion and teriffic acting, making for a memorable experience. It also inspired and brilliant television show, so it count as a great one in my book.
