The Widower

Alberto Nardi (Alberto Sordi) is a Roman businessman who fancies himself a man of great capabilities, but whose factory (producing lifts and elevators) tethers perennially on the brink of catastrophe. Alberto is married to a rich and successful businesswoman from Milan, Elvira Almiraghi (Franca Valeri) who has a no-nonsense attitude and barely tolerates the attempts of her husband to keep his factory afloat with her money. Alberto tries to "keep up" with his wife and her rich and successful friends but he only manages to ridicule himself. Amused by his antics Elvira publicly treats her husband as a silly clown, confident that he'll never leave her in the hope of profiting from her fortune.

The Widower torrent reviews

Remi R (kr) wrote: I have never hated a movie so much. Maybe the characters were supposed to be hated but still quirky and kind of fun. But no, they weren't funny or ironic. They had no redeeming qualities similar to the movie. The writing was all over the place and they ended up killing kittens. so ultimately i wasted good money on renting this movie after it was called a subversive romy and michelles high school reunion by advertisers obviously because it wasn't that at all. romy and michelles high school reunion is amazing. while the characters are written to be annoying yet quirky they actually achieve that as well. I have never hated a movie like i hate fort tilden. don't waste your money on it.

Ian C (nl) wrote: Text book tale of a double cross and revenge. Loved the shoot out at the end, Simon Yam cracked me up as the gay villian and psycho's girlfriend is pure filth.

Caleb M (jp) wrote: No one walks stoically to bleak songs about revenge like Meiko Kaji. The second film in the Female Convict Scorpion series, Jailhouse 41 is surreal and subversive. It takes a bit to get into these films, just don't expect the action-packed exploits of American-made revenge flicks. Jailhouse 41 is at once a gonzo-exploitation film and a bizarro female-revenge flick, with a spectacularly lethal final five minutes.
