It's Disney's same magic as they revived the Disney fairy tales in 'Enchanted'. Jason Segel is and American actor and screen writer who came up big in TV drama series. He tries a movie with 'Muppets' and also casted in recent topic making comedy 'Sex Tape` with Cameron Diaz. Amy Adams who is familiar with a Disney musical movie 'Enchanted' looks a little fat. She was not in a haste to reduce her weight after she had her first baby Aviana but it's surprising. Christ Cooper comically plays a heel not too heavily and not too lightly. Jack Black doesn't appear so much until the final phase but, once he appears, he never fail to get laughs. Cameos are also great. Emily Blunt appears as a receptionist. Apparently it's a parody of 'The Devil wears Prada'. There appears many cameos like Whoopi Goldberg in 'Sister Act' and Zach Galifianakis. In these day, Amy Adams called herself 'Muffin top' It must be a Hollywood way that she played the movie being 'muffin top' after became a mother. She reduced weight and played a love scene in 'American Hustle' afterwords.

(de) wrote: This bizarre movie starts out slow (& icily desolate like its Scandinavian surroundings), but the second half is quite funny, once the forbidden interactions & observations begin. I also like the fact that it ends on an ambiguous note. They don't make many movies like this any more (or at all).

(de) wrote: A subtle little heist movie that succeeds in only two regards: the cinematography and the writing. The cinematography was magnificent in some places and the writing was one, clearly Roger Avery which is in no way bad, and two, very well paced. The plot is stock and boring, the acting isn't all that great, with the exceptions of Eric Stoltz and Jean-Hughes Anglade, and the directing is relatively lifeless.

He's the vigilante that does the tough stuff the local citizens can't do themselves. He also drives the only American car in the town and answers phones at bars. What a badass.
(gb) wrote: In "The Dam Busters," Barnes Wallis(Michael Redgrave), a research scientist at Vickers during World War II, and his doting wife(Ursula Jeans) do not so much raise their children, as breed them to be his lab assistants. His latest experiment involves a way to bomb the dams of the Ruhr Valley which could potentially cripple Germany's steel production. The high command is about to give up on this and let him play with his expensive toys somewhere in Scotland when he has a breakthrough. Even after a successful test with live aircraft, approval is slow in coming. But once it does, Wing Commander Guy Gibson(Richard Todd) is put in charge of the mission. Based on a true story, "The Dam Busters" is a gripping tale of dogged determination in the face of adversity during wartime, taking the viewer through all the stages of a military mission from planning to completion. At the heart of it is the contrast between two men, Wallis, the thinker, and Gibson who implements the plan. Gibson does not contemplate what he has been ordered to do because on the surface it is quite insane and impossible. As a veteran of many bombing sorties, he knows he cannot afford to be emotional during a war which has its many peaks and valleys, not to mention down time.
(au) wrote: Enjoyable enough, with an agreeably offbeat lead performance from Robery Downey Jr., and an unusually engaging performance from Gwyneth Paltrow (before she's made to cower and whimper, as women in action movies are wont to do...but that's a different story). Pity the latter half of the movie amounts to typical nonsensical action movie plotting, and requires the usually skilful Jeff Bridges to SCREAM HIS LINES to show how bad (in both senses of the word) a villain he is.
