She was there to make Hiccup do what he needed to do the entire time, and when he grew some balls, she fell back into the cut like, We haven't been separated since forever. You're fine.I think they could've done so much more with her character, and it's not fair that you...SPOILER ALERT:Had to kill his father for her to be considered relevant. Anywho, I still liked the film, and I know the kids will enjoy them.

(jp) wrote: I thought the cast was solid going in but the Lay the Favorite failed miserably largely because the protagonist, Rebecca Hall, cannot even remotely act. I don't know how she gets any roles. Bruce Willis, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joshua Jackson, Vince Vaughn, etc. all provide solid support but Hall was just ridiculous. The plot also got boring and fast. It didn't have a good flow and seemed to have no real direction for much of the film. Overall there really isn't much point in watching beyond a slightly humorous scene here and there.

I was really surprised by this movie because I wasn't sure what to expect. This movie was actually a decent movie. The cast was pretty good and so was the writing. The script could have been a little better but it was basically a good film. I got a feeling this was probable one of Guy Pearce?s first American films. There were some funny parts to this film as well as some dramatic parts. "Slipping Down on Life" is about this young woman who lives in a small town. She just lives day to day with out any real prospects. One evening a friend and this young woman go see a local band. The lead singer makes an imprint on this young woman's life. She becomes obsessed with this lead singer as well as a lot of women in that town. After carving the lead singer's last name into her forehead the young woman becomes the talk of the town. The lead singer goes to see the young woman in the hospital and starts to fall in love with her. The young woman decides to take on the task to help the musician with his career because she believes he has the talent to make it big even though he has no desire to go any where with his career. This film is also about miscommunication, relationship issues, small town trappings, and just general understanding of one another. The musician character isn't very likable but he grows on you. The DVD doesn't have any bonus features because this was a low budget film even though the cast was amazing. I would suggest this movie to any one. Please see what you think.Fritz ;)

(ca) wrote: Easily one of the darker martial arts movie. It begins with the title character getting tricked, crippled, and his sister forced to be a mistress by the villain. Lau Kar Leung then must train a mischievous thief in the ways of Monkey Fist in order to redeem himself and save his sister. The fights are not anything special, but it does have some excellent training montages. A training fight near the end is noteworthy, and so is the crazy acrobatics that are used by the pupil.A decent martial arts movie, but not of the best of Lau Kar Leung.
