Chloe Z (ag) wrote: me and my brother made our mother rent us this movie every single weekend between 1993-96 when i think she finally was able to find a vhs copy and save herself a ton of money. but we were insistent children and we LOVED this movie! i haven't seen it in years (can't find a copy) but i guarantee that i could still recite every line. the set-up is pathetic.. and thats what's great about this film, all the characters are pathetic to one degree or another and you still find yourself rooting for them all. so many classic dangerfield one-liners, and jakee is on her game, together making them a dynamic duo that is only further illuminated by the supporting cast of witty and talented relative unknowns. this movie is a classic comedy set-up especially when you consider the other kinds of films and stories being told around the early 1990's... maybe it couldn't hold up in today's world even though i would love love love to see a remake of this 20 years later! always gonna be a winner, just wish more people could see it these days!
Frances H (nl) wrote: Cute, enjoyable movie reminiscent of The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming from the 60s and other kids get together to save the day 80s movies such as Goonies, E.T., and Explorers (which featured River Phoenix). Pure, wholesome entertainment with a great message of Glasnost.
