There's a Stranger in my House torrent reviews

Pirkko S (ru) wrote: A bit too cheesy for me.

Bill B (ca) wrote: I will freely admit to liking this film more than I should, but what can I say, I watched it in the right frame of mind to be charmed by the cast of older stars who completely OWN their younger counterparts in any given situation. Now I just need to go and read the Warren Ellis comics as well, just because he's never let me down.Worth a rental.

Niek S (gb) wrote: A working class comic drama that's very charming and very raw at the same time. And it's in Flemish dialect! Lovely.

Joshua G (de) wrote: Boo sucked away my love of movies. It took away all common sense in my brain and replaced it with bad acting. The End.

Briain d (mx) wrote: Its ending packs a bite; I'll say that much.

Andy O (it) wrote: This kinda reminded me of a sort of Japanese version of the Naked Gun - however, extreme camp-silliness aside it has some amazing action sequences. Oh - and the Street Fighter parody is hilarious...

nanyeli m (it) wrote: gracias a esta pelicula descubri a uno de mis directores favoritos subiela, de mis guiones favoritos, con los mejores dialogos del cine.

Lesley N (us) wrote: Regular interview soundtrack, but with Aardman plasticine animation on top. Great.

Sarah P (mx) wrote: I'd heard about this movie and been wanting to see it for years (apparently it's out of print, even the dvd now!), and finally had a chance to the other day thanks to Netflix. It was definitely worth the wait, and was as much up my alley as I'd guessed! Tis the story of two misfit girls who meet in 80's NYC (i.e. back before Times Square was still sleazy and raw, before Giulani Disneyfied it), escape from a mental hospital together and forge a bond. One's a rich girl running away from her conservative dad (Trini Alvarado, wow, looking so young here!) and the other a street-smart homeless butch riot grrl, way before riot grrl. Apparently the original lesbian aspect of the storyline was severely edited out of the script and the final cut (grar), but you can definitely still see major elements of it there; quite reminded me of my beloved "Heavenly Creatures", actually.Even better, the whole flick is chock-full of great punk/New Wave music, and also co-stars TIM CURRY (!) as rebel deejay "Johnny LaGuardia," who inspires the girls. You can totally tell this movie sowed the seeds for Allan Moyle's later effort "Pump Up The Volume" as well. Anyway, Tim is The Sex as always...Like "The Legend of Billie Jean" (also out of print, grr), this is a total 80's teen feminist cult classic! And makes me kinda miss the old Times Square.

J D (ag) wrote: Great drama about the complications of love, sex, and class in Britain. Laurence Harvey has the rakish, smoldering confidence of a young William Holden, and Simone Signoret, who resembles Gena Rowlands, is at once both confident and vulnerable. While Harvey's character Joe makes quite a few questionable moves to better himself, because all the upper crust he's trying to join are such self-righteous, pompous, sneering prigs, you still root for him. He's the lesser of two evils, though what that costs him is the heart of the story. Intelligent drama for adults, could very well have been made yesterday with its modern look at adult relationships.

Cronis M (kr) wrote: Characters introduced only to be destroyed when the franchise already has a rich history is lazy writing.
