Carl W (br) wrote: Pretty dire, but then it's supposed to be a very over-the-top, outrageous spoof slasher flick, so "dire" is sort of par for the course. Does't really make it into "so bad it's good" territory, though. Could probably have been rescued a bit by alternative dialogue. What it has sounds like it's been improvised by heavily stoned people with both learning difficulties and Tourette's syndrome, as far as I remember. I couldn't in all conscience recommend that anyone waste their time watching this.

Andres M (it) wrote: It is the same kind of story that gay movies always have where they have the powerful antigay father type of thing, but it was a cute story, and I enjoyed it all the way. The climax had a twist that was a little bit predictable but it was very powerful, i think. It was a good gay themed movie and I do recommend it, the actor playing henry did a very good job.

Thomas W (mx) wrote: This film divides itself into 3 obviously separate acts; the camps, the fortress and the mountains. The characters all have distinct personalities and do show some realism in how they respond to their environment and stress. The camp scene is hit and miss, sometimes they are goofing off and crossdressing (srly wtf?) while other times they realize how dangerous it is to be in prison or escape attempts, creating drama. Act 2 shows a villain-hero relationship that I believe is too strong, I mean it looks like a romance. However it is always great to see a villain have some relationship with the hero, it means that there is a history behind the characters and their strong personalities become shown. Act 3 also had a lot of drama, some tension but also ends the film on a happy tone, which I liked.
Nina P (de) wrote: These people were 20 years ahead of Hollywood. The editing, story structure, screenplay, cinematography, the way the story/plot was carried out, use of symbolism, etc. is so skillfull and modern that it is hard to remember this is a movie made in 1924. Ofcourse a live orchestra (or rather a band) at the screening did it's trick too...Actually... I preferred this to many modern Hollywood movies.

Randy M (es) wrote: Best thing about this movie was the visuals for sure. Beautiful to look at - every frame is kinda like a painting. There were a whole lot of twists, I had a hard time keeping up. It just confirms that any time some kids stop in a sleepy town, they end up in some crazy trouble. This guy says it perfectly in his review: "To say it mildly, there's gonna be a lot of dead meat in the Tremo scum pond before the night is out."
