But there was an actual warmth and familiarity to planning a wedding that I could appreciate. Particularly the guest list and visual representation of the seating chart. Weddings are complicated things but sometimes they must occur or else the family will feel left out. And family often forgets who the big day is for and make it all about them. Cute bonus ending during credits too.

Gabriel K (kr) wrote: The premise of this movie sounded great, but the story is so contrived, unrealistic, and borderline ridiculous, even Martin Scorsese's directing could not save it. Even the setting was off, the early 90's New York looked more like a comic book parody than a real city.

Wes S (us) wrote: While it's effects are nice and general plot rather interesting, it's a bit of a gross out with an overall dumb story. There's a lot of disgusting moments and jokes in bad taste. The characters are fun in a sick way. Lots of nice gory effects. The end is a bit lacking, and it does get a little dull.
Joe L (br) wrote: a classic of intelligent low-budget science fiction in the tradition of the more recent 'moon.' adheres tightly to the structure of the original robinson crusoe, but placed in an outer space context. paul mantee is a little too soap opera to carry the entire first half of the film himself, but there is a earnestness to the whole production that makes it a forgotten classic and worth seeing for fans of the genre.
