Tanvir M (br) wrote: Fantastically well acted film about the urban loneliness and the desperate yearning to connect with people. The two leads are extraordinary in their understated performance, and the script is pretty much flawless.
Freddie F (mx) wrote: No one makes films like Claire Denis. Watching her work is like discovering cinema all over again -- baffling, beautiful, indescribable. Its hard to wrap one's head around a film like this because it is so different than what we normally see in movies. And not in a superficial way. This is narrative arthouse cinema, but the way Denis tells the tale, the way the editing functions, the implications of the images and the nuance of its style -- all are vastly revolutionary innovations for the artform.I'm probably underrating this a bit, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.

Jamie L (ca) wrote: This one was alright. The best part about it was A.J. Cook. I know I sound like a broken record, but I really think they should stop continuously making sequels.

Dann M (mx) wrote: "They're back." Lacking the craft of the original, Poltergeist II: The Other Side is a hokey and generic horror sequel. The story picks up with the Freelings settling into a new house and a demonic entity known as Kane coming after them. Unfortunately there's a lot of retconning to make this plot work, and Kane is a rather stereotypical villain. Craig T. Nelson gives a really hammy performance, and the special effects are incredibly cheesy. Convoluted and clichd, Poltergeist II: The Other Side fails to recapture the thrills and excitement of the first film.

Larry W (es) wrote: If you are expecting a continuation of the plot teaser you got at the end of thr first movie then never watch this movie because they throw it out in the first 5 minutes and spend the rest of the movie on anti-war propaganda. No steampunk to be found in this movie. Good acting saves this from from being a complete disaster
