Time Masters

On planet Perdide, an attack of giant hornets leaves Piel – a young boy – alone in a wrecked car with his dying father. A mayday message reaches their friend Jaffar, an adventurer travelling through space. On board Jaffar’s shuttle are the renegade Prince Matton, his fiancée, and Silbad who knows the planet Perdide well. Thus begins an incredible race across space to save Piel… René Laloux, the director of Fantastic Planet [La Planète sauvage], created Les Maîtres du temps, his penultimate animated feature film, in 1982. A huge hit in France at the time of its release, it combines Laloux’s famous imagination with that of animation designer Jean Giraud (aka Moebius). Les Maîtres du temps is a finely animated metaphysical rescue mission, previously seen in English-speaking countries as a dubbed version entitled Time Masters.

Piel, a 7 or 8 year old boy, is alone on the desert planet Perdide, only survivor of an attack by giant hornets. Calling for help, Piel's father's friend Jaffar keeps contact with the kid ... . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Adrienne L (ru) wrote: I remember all the sweat and tears I shed back in the day over pageants. Not to mention the many times I lost before finally being crowned. There is nothing like the moment you hear your name being called. It's magical. The performers really gave it there all. Nice ending.

Bob K (jp) wrote: Meh. I didn't see the significance of any of it. Was any of this daring or new in 1975? Still, the principals are nice to watch, and Jack Albertson gets the girl instead of Warren, so there's that.

Stephen C (jp) wrote: Mean and Lean cop thriller with loads of violence and two outstanding performances from Quinn And Kotto. When a heist goes wrong in Harlem its up to the police to catch up with the criminals before a vengeful mafia does. The film looks at the robbery from all sides and is interesting as it potrays cops and bad guys both looking for summary justice. The film is very violent for a film of this period and although some call it a Blackspoitation flilm ,i personally feel the film is more a Cops V crims genre type and in that genre its one of the best, right down to its totally downbeat ending. Oh and of course the soundtrack is top draw

Russell S (ru) wrote: There's a single moment in this movie that pays a very high price for the laugh that it gets. The price is that of ruining my suspension of disbelief for the rest of the movie. After that moment I never got fully back into it and my rating is partly a reflection of that. Yes, the final act also gets a little wacky and unexpected stuff occurs but I didn't mind that at all and despite it's problems it did entertain me.
