Tracy R (mx) wrote: This is one of the films I base my critic opinion upon. I could not take a negative review of this film without judging the critic's choice of profession. Ryan Gosling showed as he was born to do exactly this. The script is not without flaws, but with this more than phenomenal cast, it is brilliant.

Patrick F (kr) wrote: A Bleak, Dark, relentless, unforgiving, and uncompromising biblical allegory, disguised as a modern western. The imagery is often harsh, but it never pulls punches. The ambiguity and tone work so well because of a taut script, meticulous production quality and stellar acting. A hard sit, but well worth the time. One of my favorite films of the year.

Simon H (us) wrote: This short and silent French film is best to describe as bizarre. I still have no idea if there was any kind of narrative intended but I believe that the director was aiming more for the shocks than story. This is definitely the case, as the film is rather uncomfortable from start to finish. Whether it's the eye slicing scene (with a real eye) or the female lead's armpit hair jumping to the male lead's face, you can't help but wonder to yourself what the hell you had just watched.

Hayden B (us) wrote: I was so torn at the end of this movie. The entire production was great with amazing dark comedy based around the world ending. Steve Carrell and Kiera Knightley are great throughout the movie and really have engaging characters. However, towards the end **Spoilers** when they end up together, it really kills the vibe. I really enjoyed the idea of them just being friends and facing the end of the world together in the end. The love plot between the two was very off-putting and really knocks a star off of this rating.
