Dylan D (au) wrote: It's amazing that The Bye Bye Man earned a theatrical release. It has "direct-to-video fodder" written all over it. Whether its brain-dead concept, inept acting, embracing of empty genre clich, and, of course, the inane concept of forgetting something by writing reminders all over the place, the film is a total bomb with its only saving grace its opening minutes.

Dan H (ag) wrote: Another film where the plot is pretty non important, acting as more of a means to an ends. A Policeman decides to use a group of musical anarchists for his own ends when he realizes that everything that they play on, he cannot hear afterwards. So, he pursues them as they cause musical chaos throughout his city. It's a sweet, simple and utterly fascinating....a good work of art. I give it a good reccomendation

Jacqueline A (kr) wrote: Alyssa Milano gives a great performance. The movie, however, was alright but not noteworthy.

Sarah F (au) wrote: I wonder what this is about, i think ill see it!

David Z (br) wrote: Like any movie reaching for something beyond itself, it is susceptible to accusations of failure. However, each character you learn is an archetype, the final orphan of Hong Kong is left in the clutches of its new master while a man encounters himself in his old love while saying goodbye, to everything.

Susanna V (gb) wrote: Heh I just watched this yesterday, and it is one of my fave Lewis films ever. Different kind of humor than in the Marx films, but I really like this kind of comedy too !

Kevin R (mx) wrote: She'll show you how simple it really is.Pinky is a young girl that recently obtained a new job at a rehabilitation center of sorts. She struggles to make friends and meets a girl with a similar disorder. The coworkers move in and things quickly become awkward. The maturity level of the two is very different; however, after some unfortunate accidents Pinky has some memory issues and the roommates will need to work harder to get along than ever..."They're not my parents."Robert Altman, director of MASH, The Player, Short Cuts, Gosford Park, Fool For Love, Popeye, A Wedding, Thieves Like Us, and Countdown, delivers 3 Women. The storyline for this picture is uneven but contains some great characters and acting. The plot is okay, but it is the acting that makes this film worthwhile. The cast includes Shelley Duvall, Sissy Spacek, Janice Rule, and Craig Richard Nelson."They call them love apples but I don't love them."I came across this a long time ago when it was first added to Netflix. I generally love these female grindhouse/Indi films, but this was a bit uneven for me. There were a few aspects I liked but the film could have been better overall."Last one to bed turns out the lights."Grade: C

Quincy T (fr) wrote: There hasn't been a movie that's so predictable, it makes rewatching Paranormal Activity a fresh experience. This is mediocrity in scene by scene basis. It's almost surprising, if it's not so sad that the producer or director once thought imitation of other horror films could be a substitute for real tension. Furthermore, displaying it in found footage style doesn't add anything, let alone mask the unoriginality. The lackluster story is about two couples who happily spend their honeymoon, but in the end meet with dubious characters. After some bizarre forgettable occurrence, the bride is pregnant. No, this is not Hangover, although it would've been better. What follows is a mix between pregnancy scare and overused gimmicks. The theme has been used before, but this is acceptable, many movies use already proven formula and produces new material. Devil's Due, on the other hand, cobbles together pieces of other works in hope of anyone who hasn't watched horror movies in years will find it amusing. Its use of found footage mechanic further confuses the plot, because some of the scenes shouldn't have been captured in the first place. It uses all security cameras which are in vicinity of the story, it's not only one vlogger type, yet it still feels unauthentic and staged to capture certain scenes. It probably would've been slightly better if it's done in simple third person view. There's not much excellence in acting either, the usual scream and frantic gaze. As an intimate experience of maternity, the movie could've depicted more personal issue. The scares aren't much better, often showing people in trance or shouting randomly. Every part of the movie is dull, any horror it has is watered down because it's near exact replica of others.Granted, those who had or having the delicate 9 months marathon could appreciate it better, but why would they watch this movie, why would anyone for that matter?
