Brad G (de) wrote: As usual, we've got two crimes occurring in Paradise, MA. One: Jesse's Statie pal Stephen McHattie is nearly shot to death during a pseudo stakeout. Two: Camryn Manheim's baby was kidnapped seven years ago and she believes he's somewhere in Selleck's small town. Neither crime really manages to capture my interest, but the shooting at least allows for Selleck to sink into some diabolical/criminal schemes, and it leaves Jesse Stone in a rather tight spot for the next (6th) film. Christian C (fr) wrote: The movie poster suggested "No Reservations" would be a rom-com -- but there was no discernible "com" actually in it. While there certainly was a modicum of romance, the story is much better characterized as a drama focused on a career-minded woman taking on the responsibility of raising her traumatized niece after a terrible tragedy, and who grudgingly allows a cute but insipid male sidekick into the house as a hanger-on. It was entertaining from the professional kitchen angle, but there did not seem to be much leavening in the bread.

Skyler B (jp) wrote: Not my favorite Wilder/Pryor pairing, but still one of the best. This prison-buddy movie is great, well-acted, and a pure and fun vehicle for Wilder and Pryor to ride as they make light of every possible situation in the prison world. Love that scene where Pryor lights a match on that guy's chest hair.
Bill B (gb) wrote: Okay, the rating is very middle of the road, but I must stress that it is a reflection of the enjoyment of poking fun at the film, which is largely awful, not the actual quality of what you will see on the screen.Well worth a look with friends and booze, if only to see what that whole Patton Oswalt routine was about from a few years ago.Rental.

Peter R (br) wrote: The worst part about this movie is that the character's never actually do anything to advance the plot. All of their dialogue is reserved to petty squabbles and technobabble, and the film is too interested in its own special effects to even bother with letting them do much more than sit around and watch. Most of the movie is just shots of the Enterprise floating around in space and the crew looking on in awe.
David L (us) wrote: its not that bad of a biopic, really. Not Wener Herzog's best, but definitely not as bad as the critics make it --that is, if you can make past James Franco's happy demise in the film. Why Herzog cast Franco I do not know -- he's just horrid and with the bad British accent and smarmy personality I can see why people hated this film. Glad he croaked early and may he never do another film ever again.
