Mike N (us) wrote: Creatively written and an amazing performance by Renee Zellweger, and the rest of the cast did good as well. It is funny, violent, sad, and oddly romantic. It shows a roll of a somewhat mentally ill person with a need for a big imagination and denial to find herself and purpose. I think it carries a powerful message. One of my favorite movies.

Benjamin T (fr) wrote: Following on the success of Gojira, Rodan is one of many Giant Monster Movies that were released in this era. With decent special effects and a great roar, it is a memorable Kaiju film. Rodan's legacy continued in various Godzilla films, proving it to be worthy of being remembered. However, like many Kaiju films, the english dubs are laughable at times.

Good comedy has been hard to come by and In The Loop pushes all the right buttons poking fun at the ridiculousness that is present day politics! Sidenote: Don't try to follow the storyline, it is meant to be droll baffling and ridiculous. Enjoy the dialogue and the intense satire of it all.

Stuart K (ru) wrote: Sam Peckinpah had found box-office success for The Wild Bunch (1969), but after falling out with Warner Bros. over The Ballad of Cable Hogue (1970), he lost out on the chance to make Deliverance (1972). Looking for something to make, he was offered this adaptation of The Siege of Trencher's Farm by Gordon M. Williams, it was set in England, but it was perfect material for Peckinpah, and it's a suspenseful thriller too. In the West Country of Cornwell, American mathematician David Sumner (Dustin Hoffman) moves to the village where his English wife Amy (Susan George) grew up in. He just wants peace for him to his academic work, and there is tension between the couple as he wants to work, but she wants fun. However, some of the locals, including Chris Cawsey (Jim Norton), Norman Scutt (Ken Hutchison) and Charlie Venner (Del Henney) have been renovating the farmhouse and adjoining barn. But, they taunt David for being so immersed in his studies, and some strange things happen. But after Amy is raped and the locals turn on David, he snaps and becomes heroic to save his home. It opens up the main debate of how far one would go to defend their own home from people bringing violence against it. Peckinpah assembles a good little who's who of British film and TV to act as the villagers, good and bad, but the final half hour which see's Hoffman go from meek geek to violent defender is gripping and exciting.

Frederic C B (it) wrote: The Good:Batman still has fun scene stealing moments and is hillarious as ever. The Not-so-Good:The focus on Batman is getting a bit too overwhelming. The Legion of Super-Heroes got a very limited screentime, eventhough they were heavily promoted in the trailer. Many of the jokes do not land.
