What an awful, unimaginative, predictable, poorly acted, poorly written, sophomoric piece of excrement! Can you tell I hated it in every way possible? What a complete waste of time and $$ ( I actually bought it based on the lone viewer review on this site) He should be banned for life for saying anything favorable about this awful mess. Do not spend a minute of your time on this high school production....or should I say Grammar school? Ken K.

Johnny T (es) wrote: The events from Fletch weren't mentioned in Fletch Lives and there was no major plot point carried forward into the second movie. This movie did introduce again the fact that Fletch was a reporter that used disguises to get his stories. The first movie was based on a book written by Gregory McDonald. I think he wrote more than one book featuring Fletch. I haven't read any of the books, so I don't know how the character might have been changed for the movies. Libertini is criminally underused this time. Getting a bit more time onscreen, even if it is for one scene more than in the first film, is George Wyner as the sleazy attorney for Fletch's unseen ex-wife dogging the reporter for alimony payments. The second half shines as brightly as Farnsworth's front teeth. All the aforementioned stereotypical supporting characters are finally put to good use. Fletch really delves into his bag of wacky characters, pulling out two of my favorites, Ed Harley and the faith healer Claude Henry Carlton Smmoot. If these guises don't tickle your funny bone, I suggest you see a doctor. Not quite as good as the first, but still an enjoyable jaunt. VERDICT: "In The Zone" - [Mixed Reaction] These kinds of movies are usually movies that had some good things, but some bad things kept it from being amazing. This rating says buy an ex-rental or a cheap price of the DVD to own. If you consider cinema, ask for people's opinion on the film. (Films that are rated 2.5 or 3 stars)
