(it) wrote: It tries to be rebellious. And succeeds for the first half of the movie. But then when the whole thing ends I felt like it was too clean. Happy endings drive me crazy. So cliched. For a better movie about liberal angst see River Phoenix and Harrison Ford in 'The Mosquito Coast'.
(nl) wrote: am I a Gosling fanboy? Maybe... haha he knows what movies I love (besides Gangster Squad of course) But seriously, this film is smart, clever and ballsy enough to allianate most of it's critical audience. Think about what you're watching. This film did not deserve the reaction it received initially
(jp) wrote: I really liked this film alot. It's simple, very formulaic, but it is also very touching. Terrence Howard gives a very good performance. I'd recommend this film to anyone.

(de) wrote: Not one of Spielbergs best imo. It had some pretty good scenes and jaw-dropping effects for 1977, but I didn't really enjoyed it as a hole.
(ca) wrote: Now that's a pirate movie!!! The opening sequence at the gallows alone merits my vote.
(ru) wrote: Fascinating heist film done with humor and style.
(nl) wrote: Artistic to the point that some may accuse it of being pretentious, the Lobster is a refreshingly unique movie full of oddities The unique writing and cinematography is thought provoking but perhaps not for everyone. Darkly comedic, at times somber, and even sadistic, I suggest puling a friend into watching it with you, as this movie, for better or for worse, is something worth talking about.
