Probably because the director thinks that the audience can't accept the original manga story, how disappointing. Anyway, Masato (K-1 fighter) is in it, still a worth watching movie if you somehow got a free ticket.

Don S (us) wrote: It pained me to watch this. I couldn't stand the thought of Brett (SMG) having a relationship with this old codger - Baldwin used to not bother me but lately I just really can't stand him. For me, the vignettes didn't work here; I much prefer a straightforward storyline. This is uninvloving and creepy (in a non-horror movie way). It almost gets a passing grade purely on the strength of SMG's incredible charisma.

Ryan P (ca) wrote: Good film. It's definitely lighter in tone than its predecessor, ''Yojimbo,'' since it's more wildly humorous, but it's just as endlessly entertaining & seemingly rich in rewatch value. Kurosawa's camerawork and overall direction is awesome, especially how he choreographed the fight sequences. Toshiro Mifune is typically incredible in the lead -- I, like others, especially loved seeing him play this warmer, yet swaggering figurehead version of Sanjuro (the more I see this man in movies, the deeper I fall in love with him). The cinematography was really beautiful and the score, which seemed to be a recycled version of the theme from ''Yojimbo,'' was very fitting with proceedings. It's just bucket loads of fun, fun, fun! Highly recommended to all Kurosawa fans.
