We Are Skateboarders is a 'as real as it gets' documentation of the soul of skateboarding, and how some of the legendary skateboarders feel its soul has changed over the years. Since the mainstream has come to play a major role in the skateboard industry, there has been much dispute amongst skateboarders if skateboarding is loosing its purity and status as a core activity. The film tackles this issue with enlightening interviews from famous skateboarders such as Lance Mountain, Greg Lutzka, Rob Dyrdek, Peter Smolik, and Christian Hosoi, creating the most legitimate discussion towards the controversy in the skateboarding industry.

It's tone reminds me of Gus Van Sant's "Elephant" and "Gerry". For indie film lovers who can see the beauty in the unconventional.

On repense cela tant "Charisma" (et pas seulement mais surtout Charisma) sauf qu'ici le film est moins lourd, confus et encombr par son propos philosophique. Il y a une certaine lgret dans la ralisation (en + de l'usage de la camra numrique) qui permet d'apprcier un peu plus les rapports humains qui se tissent entre les personnages. On retiendra notamment cette superbe scne de clture au bord du canal. Enfin bref, Bright Future est un objet curieux, hant par les visions la fois surralistes et pessimistes mais toujours contemplatives de Kiyoshi Kurosawa, pas aussi puissant que Cure et/ou Kairo mais suffisamment intressant pour y jeter un oeil.
