We Were Here

'We Were Here' is the first film to take a deep and reflective look back at the arrival and impact of AIDS in San Francisco, and how the City's inhabitants dealt with that unprecedented calamity. It explores what was not so easy to discern in the midst of it all - the parallel histories of suffering and loss, and of community coalescence and empowerment.

Rick C (gb) wrote: No need for them to dramertise the relationships between the guys. That got really old for me by the end.

Dimitri C (br) wrote: The movie had the right elements following the franchise. Unfortunately, the terrible direction, awful acting, dreadful special effects and the J Pop vibe bury this "Sadako 3d" and acheive making all this completely ridiculous.

Ben C (br) wrote: Excellently nuanced indie movie about the way people's lives intersect and affect each other.

Timmy H (de) wrote: It goes nowhere but i really enjoyed this film and characters.

Thomas T (br) wrote: Though it doesn't have the same superior comedic element like Shaun of the Dead did, Hot Fuzz still aims to be an entertaining film for those who appreciate excellent comedy.

Manolo P (ca) wrote: I did not enjoy watching this film, maybe only the last part is worth it except the mere final, which is something we all expected and that does not sow in us any kind of intrigue. The characters in this movie are idiots, which was a purposeful setup, but still their performance is very limited. All the beginning of the story was laughing instead of suspense and although at the time the effects were not like today, come on! They could have been much better. I liked the part of suspense of the end although the prize to the idiot champion is taken by the psychic woman for such complex and credble performance. They really took care of the lighting of the film, one thing is to be at night and therefore everything darkened and another very different is that you can't see anything. I really liked that this film has been more real than many others through the inclusion of the police and the inhabitants in the plot, a situation that in most cases does not happen, as you know, the police arrive at the end always. Yes it is creepy, not to say much but not boring, although the whole approach should have been better because I forced myself to see the full movie and did not catch me in the least, and it took me several days to finish.

Dan H (us) wrote: An Evil Dead wanna-be. There is some appreciated nudity, but most of the characters aren't likable and the effects and demon designs aren't good (Big yellow zits). I will say the film is fun at times, so if you are curious I guess it may be worth a watch.
