Geir F (es) wrote: Future by Design is really less of a documentary about futurist Jacque Fresco, and more of a feature length presentation of his ideas. The movie suffers due to the this, simply because listening to Fresco toss out one radical and complex idea after another for ninety minutes on end is exhausting. A less breathless and more relaxed format would have served the contents much better. Still, there's no denying that Fresco has some very interesting thoughts to share, and that alone certainly makes Future by Design worth watching.
Lovro H (ag) wrote: This was actually a very good movie! I liked the whole sci-fi/history theme. It was fun to watch and it had some swell effects and CGI. The ending was predictable and the story was very simple. But all-in-all a very good movie!

Until the game became his life!9/10

It's the same here, an adventure tale, a safari into darkest Africa (with Hudson's head of the safari quite good actually). Only by now its all been done before so you know what's coming an hour before it arrives. They leave out the lust in the jungle angle, I don't know why.

Rob H (de) wrote: Sinclair Lewis wrote a gem when he penned this novel. The movie focused on the second part of the three-part book, so its less involved than the novel. It's still a very good movie with tremendous actors.
Rodney E (kr) wrote: Basic is directed by John McTiernan, who has made some action classics like Die Hard and Predator. While this isn't an entirely action movie it is more of a thriller and it surprisingly works to a degree. It's entertaining, John Travolta is good and charming here, Samuel L is decent, it's got twists ala Rashomon and Usual Suspects throughout. Sometimes the music is cliched and weak and some actors have questionable accents. Probably the worst thing in this is Giovanni Ribisi and his scenes in the hospital. Travolta is an actor that I like a lot and get burned because he is in a lot of crap. Can you blame him though? Here is 20 million dollars to make a crappy movie..ok. Here he is a character that knows how to roll with the twists and turns of the plot. One of the things I liked about Basic was how it keeps you guessing, which some people will find contrived but I was entertained by.
